Chapter 161: The Fourth Kekkei Genkai!
Nara Keisuke lay under the shade of the tree, completely immersed in the brief moment of leisure. After an unknown amount of time, a stream of memories from a Shadow Doppelganger flowed into his mind.

Keisuke readily accepted the name of the new technique. "Since my clone has already produced research results, I suppose I can't keep lazing around."
He got up from the shade and scanned the two "experiment materials" on the field, his gaze finally locking onto the Five-Tails Jinchuriki, Han. Instead of using the genjutsu he had just developed, Keisuke opted for a different technique.
Shadow Manipulation Technique!
An incredibly fine shadow thread shot out from Keisuke's own shadow, darting across the grass and connecting to Han's. It completely sealed away the consciousness of the already-unconscious Jinchuriki. Keisuke took over his mind and, within that spiritual world, softly called out a name.
"Kokuō."
The almost pure-white Five-Tails, Kokuō, materialized its chakra and spoke calmly. "We meet again, Nara Keisuke."
"Long time no see, Kokuō," Keisuke greeted with a smile. "My original plan was to secretly abduct you without anyone knowing, but alas, fate had other plans. The war changed too quickly, and Han has become a prisoner of Konoha."
"I am aware," Kokuō said, bending its hind legs and folding its forelegs, lying down within the spiritual plane. The five great horns on its head drooped slightly. The sight made Keisuke's eyes sparkle.
Kokuō, and you say you're not a great white deer!
"Ninja have always feared the power of us Tailed Beasts, and their treatment of Jinchuriki is atrocious," Kokuō said, its sea-blue eyes fixed on Keisuke. "What does your village plan to do with Han?"
"Don't worry. After I argued my case, I've temporarily secured the authority to handle Han," Keisuke boasted, something he rarely did. "Without my permission, no one can take you from me!"
Kokuō nodded slightly. For now, it decided to trust the ninja named Nara Keisuke.
"As for a way to free you from Han's body, I'm still searching, but I already have a promising lead," Keisuke added, further placating the Tailed Beast. "Because I don't know the specific sealing jutsu Iwagakure used on you, I have to find another way... If Plan A doesn't work out, I have a backup. Kokuō, have you ever heard of the Uzumaki clan?"
"I have," Kokuō said placidly. "They are one of the descendants of the Sage of Six Paths. He passed his sealing abilities down to their bloodline."
That's Kokuō for you... even a casual chat can lead back to the Sage of Six Paths.
"Since you know of the Uzumaki, I won't have to explain much," Keisuke said, eager to move on from the topic of the old Sage. "My backup plan involves them. There is a kunoichi in Konoha who has inherited the Uzumaki's sealing techniques. While I don't have much contact with her, I am good friends with one of her friends. If Plan A fails, I'll ask her to study the seal on Han and try to free you as soon as possible."
"Then, Nara Keisuke," Kokuō said, its clear, sea-blue eyes seeming to peer into his soul. "If I am freed from Han's body, what will you do with me? Seal me up again, like Iwagakure did?"
"We already discussed this, didn't we?" Keisuke spread his hands, feigning confusion. "We'll have a fight. If I can defeat you, you'll sign a contract with me and become my summoning beast."
'Defeat me? I remember him saying his power had to be acknowledged by me...' Kokuō blinked but didn't correct him. This wasn't its demand; Keisuke was raising the stakes on his own.
"No, you misunderstand me," Kokuō said, shaking its head. "I'm referring to what happens after the summoning contract—or rather, after our battle."
"That?" Keisuke rubbed his chin and frowned. "Are you worried about your living situation? Come to think of it, I don't know much about what kind of environment Tailed Beasts prefer... What do you like, Kokuō? Forests? Plains? The ocean? If you like water, I might need to buy a large lake, since Konoha isn't on the coast."
The rapid-fire questions caught Kokuō off guard. The great white deer hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Um, actually, if it's possible, I'd prefer to be in a forest."
"A forest? That's it?" Keisuke's eyes lit up with excitement. "Kokuō, my clan happens to own a forest! It's big, it's comfortable, and it's full of Nara deer."
'I am not a deer!' The great white deer wanted to protest loudly and correct him, but the picture he painted was too tempting.
But... Kokuō gazed at the still-chattering Nara Keisuke, and the worries in its heart began to dissipate. At the very least, he wasn't planning on sealing it away in some dark, cramped space.

The smile on Keisuke's face froze slightly. Kokuō had given him the right answer, but it was far too simple. Everyone knows that 1+1=2, but the question is why does 1+1=2?
"Looks like I need to rephrase the question," Keisuke said, bidding the beast farewell for a moment. "Wait here, Kokuō. I need to take care of something with Han's body first."
Kokuō nodded slightly. Keisuke's consciousness withdrew from Han's mind.
At present, the Jinchuriki's chakra was firmly suppressed by the Four Symbols Seal, making it impossible for him to mold any. Combined with the complex toxins Orochimaru had injected into him, Han was not a good research subject for Keisuke's "Boil Release tool" plan.

A powerful stream of Yin Release chakra flooded Han's consciousness, confusing his senses and making him subconsciously begin to mold chakra. Once Han's chakra had reached a sufficient level, Keisuke decisively switched techniques.

Han's consciousness was sealed once more. Keisuke occupied his mind and reconnected with Kokuō.
"Kokuō, now, explain in detail how to use Boil Release."
