Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Shadow of the Sugar Thief

Just as their grand plan was taking shape, a dark cloud settled over Blossom Bakery. An old rival, a baker named Silas with a twisted smirk and a history of underhanded tactics, emerged from the shadows. Silas, haunted by a childhood rivalry with Alexander, had always nursed a bitter resentment for his rival's success. The childhood competition was over who could bake the finest pie, but its scars ran deep.

His insidious campaign began subtly. False rumors about their bakery's ingredients, sabotaged deliveries, and whispered complaints to the local town council. Alexander, usually unflappable, grew increasingly agitated. He recognized Silas's tactics, knew the dark undercurrent of malice that fueled his actions.

One morning, they discovered their yeast, the heart of their bread-making, had been contaminated. Then, the oven malfunctioned causing two beautiful batches of croissants to burn. The sabotage was escalating, and Iris realised that they were under attack.
