Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 She Has No Control

In the office of the president of Vogue Advertising, Sophia's fingertips tapped unconsciously on the glass tabletop, her eyes fixed on the foreign exchange market on the Bloomberg terminal. The Euro/US dollar candlestick chart flashed red and green on the screen, just like her irritable heartbeat at the moment. As the CEO of this boutique advertising company, she had no interest in foreign exchange, but since Mark said that Michael made tens of millions of dollars and wanted to get involved in foreign exchange, she couldn't stop refreshing the page.

"Lily, come in." Sophia pressed the intercom, and her voice came through the B&O speakers.

Assistant Lily walked in wearing a Prada business suit, with a Moleskine schedule under her arm: "Mr. Chen, you want to see me?"

Sophia rubbed her temples and looked at the Empire State Building outside the window: "Please help me find Michael. Tell him that the foreign exchange risk is too high and ask him to stop. He now has enough money to buy an apartment in the Upper East Side, so there is no need to take risks." She paused and softened her voice, "By the way, tell him that he is already very good and doesn't need to prove anything."

Lily listened quietly and sighed in her heart - Mr. Chen is still used to expressing his concern in the tone of "instructing subordinates". As an assistant who worked hard together in Queens, she knew that Michael was a Wall Street analyst, but he was a househusband for five years just for Sophia.

The next morning, Michael walked out of the Tribeca apartment wearing Lululemon casual clothes and saw Lily waiting at the door of Starbucks on the corner of the street. "Lily? Why are you here?"

Lily handed over a cup of cold brew coffee: "Sophia asked me to come." Hearing the name "Sophia", the smile on Michael's face faded a little.

Lily relayed Sophia's words: "She said that foreign exchange is risky and asked you to stop playing. She also said that you now have enough money to buy an apartment, so you don't need to prove yourself." She observed Michael's reaction, and he just turned the stainless steel thermos in his hand - that was the coffee he made himself.

"I know." Michael said calmly.

"Brother Mike, Sophia is also worried about you..."

"Worried?" Michael interrupted her, his eyes fell on the crowd running across the street, "If she was really worried, she wouldn't sign the divorce agreement so easily." He raised his hand and rubbed Lily's hair. This action reminded her of Michael bringing her the most delicious bagels in New York.

Michael turned to leave, but stopped again: "By the way, I'm doing more Snow Dollars. If you have spare money, you can follow me and make some pocket money." Lily didn't understand foreign exchange, but seeing the determination in his eyes, she nodded inexplicably.

At the entrance of New York University, Lillian threw herself into Michael's arms in a Columbia sweater: "Brother! You look so handsome today! This A&F sweater suits you so well!" She shook Michael's arm, "Shall we go to Fantasy Land now? I heard that the new 'Space Shuttle' roller coaster is super exciting!"

At the same time, in the Vogue Advertising office, Lillian reported the situation: "He said, 'It's none of her business.'"

Sophia crushed the organic oatmeal bar in her hand, and the crumbs fell on the Valentino table mat: "Nothing?" She remembered that Michael took away only an old suitcase when he left, which contained his Casio watch and several old financial books.

Outside the window, the bronze bull on Wall Street flickered in the sun, and on Michael's mobile phone screen, the exchange rate of the snow currency against the US dollar was falling slightly - this was the system prompt "darkness before dawn". He sent a message to Lily: "Buy 100,000 and set the stop loss at 5%." Then he took Lillian into the subway station. The subway advertisement was playing a Chanel perfume advertisement produced by Sofia Company. The profile of the heroine was surprisingly similar to her.
