Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 - The Price of Return

Twenty years... spent in blood, survival, and silence.

Inside a crumbling dungeon, beneath ruins soaked in the memories of countless battles, Jed stood alone. In his hand—aged but untouched by time—was the red paper. The one item that could return him to Earth. But the cost was steep: everything he endured in Akasha—all the battles, losses, growth, and strength—would be erased from his mind.

And still, he tore it.

For his mother.

As the world around him shattered and the ground beneath him opened once again into the black void, Jed closed his eyes.

When he opened them, the world had changed.

He was back.

The same street. The same air. But something was off. Buildings that didn't exist before now stood tall. Confused, Jed rushed home—only to find the house empty. Deserted. Cold.

A single phone call changed everything.

His aunt's voice, bitter and broken:

> "Where were you all this time? Your mother... she searched every day for you. Posted your photos everywhere... hoping you'd return. But you never did."

"She died a year ago... because of you."

Click.

Jed dropped the phone.

He couldn't remember anything from the past two years. Akasha—the monsters, the survival, the power, the pain—was gone from his mind. All that remained was a gaping hole... and guilt.

Later, he found her grave. Cleaned it. Cried beside it. And apologized over and over, though he didn't understand why.

With no answers, no purpose, and no one left, he asked his aunt for work—despite her hatred. He now lives as a housekeeper under her roof, quietly attending school.

But deep inside, something stirs.

A power.

A past.

A forgotten war.

And Jed—still unchanged after 20 year

s—may one day remember who he truly is.
