That afternoon, Robert found his father alone in the inner residence. John was reviewing the household accounts by the window.
Robert sat down across from him. He unrolled a set of blueprints. He had spent the morning copying them out by hand from memory. There were five smaller buildings — the Cultivation Pavilion, the Contribution Hall, the Training Arena, the Resource Exchange Hall, and the Spirit Herb Garden. Beneath them sat the most detailed drawing of all: the Advanced Cultivation Hall.
John set the accounts aside. He looked over the pages slowly.
"Where did these come from?" He asked. There was no real suspicion in the question. It was the same curiosity he always felt when his son produced something the clan had no obvious way of possessing.
"I have been planning this for a while," Robert said. "I have been watching what other clans build as they grow. I think about what we will need before we need it."
