After leaving the restaurant run by the South Wind Pavillion, Ren Wei headed back the inn where he left his horse.
Since, he already knew the clue, he wasn't going to spend any more time in the Hundred Flower City.
He was going to head directly for the capital city.
At first, he was going to spend some days in the Hundred Flower City. But, after thinking for a moment, he came to a decision that going to the kingdom capital city was rhe best choice.
As he walked down the street, heading back to the inn, his mind was occupied with the thought of how to find another way, just just be sure.
He didn't even realize that he was being followed.
The moment he turned his way around the corner, he found himself walking on a path where there was no people. He was so busy that he didn't even realize it.
Taking advantage of the fact that there was no people on the path, those spying from the shadows jumped out and blocked Ren Wei's way.
Was it the busy or just he didn't care at all, either way, Ren Wei didn't stop walking and bumped into one the man who was blocking the way.
Thud.
A dull sound was heard as Ren Wei side shoulder bumped into the man's shoulder.
"Oh! Sorry." Apologizing, Ren Wei bowed his head a bit, then he casually continued walking.
The scene was somewhat comical. Baffled at the sight they were witnessing, those men didn't know what to do for a moment.
But, eventually, they came to their sense and one of them spoke in a loud voice.
"Hey, don't you see we are blocking the way." He said in a gloomy tone.
Funny enough, Ren Wei kept walking.
The man who just spoked was speechless. Then, his face was filled with anger.
'How dare he act like he didn't hear me.' He gritted his teeth in anger and shouted. "HEY..., YOU. STOP RIGHT THERE."
This time, Ren Wei heard it. Not only did he heard it. It was that shouting that brought him back to the real time.
'Huh.!? I didn't even realize that I was too into my thought. Hu..., I should stop this kind of habit.' If the man hadn't shouted, Ren Wei would have continued walking with his deep thought.
Wanting to thank the person who distracted him from that deep thought, Ren Wei turned around and said. "Thank-....huh?"
After turning around, he stopped his sentence in midway with a puzzled expression. Followed by a look of realization.
He wanted to thank the person who helped him, but he realized it was not the case.
Standing in front of him was 5 men, all dressed in dark clothes with their faces covered. It was the man in the middle who shouted at him.
Even so, Ren Wei still showed a calm expression and said. "These gentlemen, how can I help you?"
"Hehe..., now you are back to your senses?" The middle man said.
"Listen up you newbie, we ask, you answer. Got it?" He said with a hint of threat.
Ren Wei was surprised when he heard the threatening tone. It was kind of long since someone spoke to him in that tone.
But he didn't mind it.
"Please." Ren Wei put up his head and gestured.
"It was you right? The one who was with that blue Horse?" The man asked.
'So, they are here for the horse. Huh? I should have realized that. From now on, should I just put it back to the dimensional storage? Never mind.' Without replying, Ren Wei thought to himself.
But, his silence was taken as confirming their words.
Laughing, the man once again said. "Newbie, you should give us that horse. Or else you will the light of heaven or fire of hell. Choose wisely."
"Ho..." Ren Wei scoffed. "And what if I choose foolishly." He sounded amused.
Suddenly, all the five men looked at eachother. Then, the same man said in a gloomy tone. His smiling tone disappeared. "Now, you are going to find out whether you will see the heaven light or hell's fire."
Whoosh..whoosh..
In a trained manner, all five of them attacked Ren Wei, simultaneously. In their eyes, they were moving quickly. But to Ren Wei, it was like a baby with unstable steps walking towards him.
'Former soldiers? ..No. Just a bunch of wannabe bandits.' Ren Wei instantly determined that they were not soldiers but a bunch of bandits playing the role of soldiers.
He smiled to himself. 'Well, its been quite a while since I moved my muscles. I should do some exercises.'
Instantly, he disappeared from the spot.
When the five bandits hit the spot, all they managed to strike was the remaining wind Ren Wei left.
Huh!?..
All five of them quickly changed their expression. They now realize that they had chosen someone formidable.
They quickly turned and found Ren Wei standing behind them.
They heard him speaking calmly. "Since you guys tried to hurt me first. I should pay it back. Don't worry, it will be quick."
Argh... ah...awwoooo....
The bandits didn't even have the time to beg for mercy or anything. In a split second, they tasted what it feels like when a giant hammer strike your whole body.
Seconds later, the five of them were laying flat on the ground. They couldn't even rolled on the ground due to the unbearable pain.
Clap. Clap.
Ren Wei clapped his hands like casually wiping away the invisible dust. "See ya."
Smiling at them, he turned around and walked away.
However, as soon as he turned around, he felt a sinister killing intent. He abruptly stopped walking.
"Huu.....why?" He sighed heavily, after feeling the killing intent. If they had just lay on the ground and accepted the defeat, they would have slipped away from the jaw of dead. But now, after bearing a deep grudge and showing the killing intent, it was over.
Without hesitation, Ren Wei simply waved his hand. Instantly, the five bandits were pierced by sharp icicles.
With horror on their faces, all five of them were killed in just a matter of minutes.
To prevent the street from being stained, Ren Wei snapped his fingers, reducing the five corpses to ash that scattered with the wind.
After taking a breath and clearing his mind, he continued walking back to the inn.
----
When he arrived at the inn, it was already the mid evening hour.
Seeing the customer coming back, the inn keeper asked politely. "Sir, your are back so quickly. Have you changed your mind about keeping the horse here?"
"Its not about that." Ren Wei denied it.
"Then, book a room?" The inn keeper asked.
"Haha, no. It's just that I have to leave the city so quickly due to an urgent matter. So, I am here to take back the horse." Ren Wei explained, so that the inn keeper would not misunderstand it.
"Ohh.." The inn keeper sound a little bit disappointed when he heard. But, he didn't show it on his face.
Still smiling, the inn keeper called a servant and instructed him to bring the blue horse quickly.
Then, he went to his counter and took out the spatial pouch and gave it to Ren Wei.
Waving his hand, Ren Wei said. "I don't need it. You keep it to yourself. It's the price I gave you."
Hearing that, the inn keeper smiled. Excited, he asked. "Are you sure sir?" It wasn't that he was too greedy. The amount was just too tempting.
"I am sure." Ren Wei assured once again.
After a while, a servant came back to the entrance of the inn with the Moon Spirit Horse.
Bidding goodbye, Ren Wei left on his horse.
Before leaving the city, he met with Nan Chen once again, to say goodbye. He also met with his pet Shadow.
After a proper goodbye, he left the Hundred Flower City and started his thousand miles journey towards the capital city.
Everyday, he would stop on his way, just to fish. It wasn't because he was addicted to fishing. He simply needed to do that.
Otherwise, if he stopped fishing for days, the karma would grow too heavy. Then, he would have to spend even more time fishing just to find a suitable fish capable of bearing that karma in exchange for a reward.
It was fine for one catch. But for three catches, it was just too much.
Just like that he was already on his way to the capital.
On the fifth day, Ren Wei was casually fishing by a small river with his horse by his side.
It was at that moment he heard the sound of someone screaming.
With his powerful spiritual sense at the Divine Domain Realm, it would have been easy for him to locate the exact source. However, to avoid invading others' privacy, he usually kept it restrained.
So, when he heard the scream, he only sensed the general direction—he didn't know the exact location.
Without wasting a moment, he released his spiritual sense, ready to investigate the situation.
