"Class is over, Hiroshi. Wake up!" Harumiko said softly, patting Hiroshi's shoulder.
Hiroshi had unintentionally fallen asleep while thinking, and he'd slept through the entire class.
"What? Class is over already? That was fast! I feel like I just fell asleep," Hiroshi said, smiling at Harumiko.
Harumiko smiled and nodded. "You were asleep for a while. Time flies when you're sleeping; you probably didn't realize."
Hiroshi nodded, stood up, and stretched.
"Ah, that feels good. Sleeping really helps," Hiroshi said with a smile, feeling refreshed and ready to go.
Harumiko also stood up and walked to the window, gazing at the view outside.
"I'll get a good night's sleep tonight, wake up early tomorrow, get ready, and then go out with Harumiko. I need to decide where we'll go tonight," Hiroshi thought, watching Harumiko's back.
It was undeniable; these two were incredibly compatible. They always seemed to be on the same wavelength, sharing a special connection, always wanting to go to the same places, eat at the same restaurants.
It felt like fate had brought them together. Perhaps they hadn't been a couple in a past life, and this time, fate had arranged for them to be together.
Before his rebirth, Hiroshi's life had been incredibly difficult. He grew up in an orphanage, had few friends, and had just started university when he was stabbed to death.
"Thinking back, even with my current strength, I should still strive for justice. In my past life, I tried to be a hero even though I wasn't strong enough. If only I had run away back then,"
"No, no matter what, I'm a man. Running away isn't an option," Hiroshi sat back down and thought to himself.
In any world, at any time, strong people always live better lives. And in a showdown, the brave always win.
"As things stand now, sufficient strength allows you to rule. Without sufficient strength, you are weak, a lamb to the slaughter," Hiroshi mused.
Harumiko slowly walked over and sat beside Hiroshi, smiling. "So, where should we go tomorrow afternoon? Maybe the forest in the village?"
"The forest? I did consider it, but I figured there wouldn't be much to do there, so I didn't mention it," Hiroshi said with a smile.
