The private medical suite in Sebastian's mansion was filled with the sharp scent of antiseptic and barely suppressed rage. Expensive medical equipment hummed quietly as a personal physician finished bandaging Sebastian's ribs. His face was still swollen from the beating, purple bruises covering most of his features.
"Sir, you need to rest for at least two weeks," the doctor said nervously. "Your injuries are quite severe."
"Get out," Sebastian growled through split lips.
The physician quickly packed his supplies and left. Sebastian waited until the door closed before turning to his assembled allies. Damien Pierce sat in a wheelchair, his leg in a cast. Liam Blackwood leaned heavily on a cane, his arm in a sling.
"Look at us," Damien said bitterly. "The heirs to three of the most powerful families in the region, and we're sitting here like hospital patients."
"That bastard humiliated us in front of everyone," Liam spat. "My uncle is dead because of him!"
