Victor Sterling stood before me, his restored body radiating vitality. His wife Laura remained on her knees, tears of gratitude streaming down her face.
"Mr. Hayes," Victor said, his voice strong and clear. "You've given me my life back. How can I possibly repay you?"
I waved my hand dismissively. "Payment isn't necessary. Seeing you healthy is reward enough."
"Absolutely not," Victor insisted, pulling out his phone. "Laura, get my black card from the safe."
Mrs. Sterling hurried away, returning moments later with an elegant black bank card. Victor pressed it into my hands.
"This account contains one hundred million yuan," he announced. "Please accept it as a token of my gratitude."
The foreign doctors gasped audibly. Dr. Mitchell nearly dropped his medical bag.
"One hundred million?" Dr. Weber whispered in shock.
I examined the card, then attempted to hand it back. "Mr. Sterling, this is too much. I only did what any doctor should do."
