Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Steam clung to Alexis's skin as she stepped out of the bathroom, towel wrapped around her body, her hair damp and curling at the ends. Her chest rose and fell, calm on the outside, but inside, everything pulsed.

And then she saw him.

Kai was sprawled across her bed like sin incarnate. Naked. One arm behind his head, the other lazily brushing his lower abs. The sheets were barely covering him, and his eyes were fixed on her with that predatory calm that always made her legs tremble.

She froze. The room went quiet.

"I thought you'd take longer," he said, voice husky, amused.

"I thought you'd be gone."

He smirked. "I was. Then I remembered what you taste like."

Her toes curled. The air between them practically vibrated.

"I should get dressed."

"You should let that towel fall."

Her breath caught. She hated how easily he unraveled her. Hated that even now, her fingers loosened against the edge of the towel.

"You think this is a game?" she asked, walking slowly toward the bed.

"No. I think it's inevitable."

She stopped at the foot of the bed. His eyes dropped to her legs, up her thighs, and back to her face like he was reading her next move before she made it.

"Say it," she dared.

"That I want to fuck you until you forget your own name?" he said lazily, "Sure. Consider it said."

The towel dropped.

He moved so fast it knocked the air out of her. One second she was standing, the next she was pinned beneath him, her legs wrapped around his waist, his mouth on hers like he needed to consume her.

Their kiss was filthy. Tongues sliding. Teeth clashing. Her hands tangled in his hair, nails dragging down his back.

"You drive me insane," he growled against her throat.

"Then lose your mind," she whispered.

He did.

His mouth traveled down her body, slow and punishing. He licked and bit his way over every curve, making her writhe, making her beg. When his head dipped between her thighs, she gasped so loud she startled herself.

And he didn't stop.

He made her come on his tongue, on his fingers, over and over until she was hoarse from moaning.

Only then did he slide inside her.

Deep. Slow. Then hard.

Every thrust was primal. Every stroke bordered on obsessive. He gripped her hips, whispered filthy promises in her ear, and made sure she couldn't think about anything except how full she felt, how wrecked she was, how much she wanted more.

She clung to him. Dug her nails into his back. Let herself be fucked into silence.

And when they collapsed, sweaty, breathless, still tangled, Alexis didn't move.

She couldn't.

He lay beside her, chest rising and falling in that slow, steady rhythm that shouldn't exist in someone like him.

"I don't do relationships," he said, not looking at her.

"Good," she whispered. "I don't have time for one."

He finally looked at her. "You always say that."

She rolled over, back to him. "Because it's true."

He didn't answer.

And neither of them said it out loud but the air between them was too thick, too dangerous.

This wasn't just sex anymore.

It was something. And it scared them both.
