Chapter 127 - A Watch and A Screwdriver

That night, the living room of Jax's residence felt much tighter than usual. Tension hung low in the air, ignoring the fact that the air conditioner had been set to its lowest temperature. On the marble table, a black velvet box lay open, displaying two objects that stood out in stark contrast to the simplicity of Easter's clothes: an old, stiff iron-framed wristwatch and a silver metal bracelet.

Jax slid the box toward Easter. "This is for you," the lawyer said, his tone blunt and devoid of the formal pleasantries he typically used in a courtroom.

Easter stared at the two items in turn, then looked up with a furrowed brow. "What are these?"

Jax leaned forward, resting both forearms on the table as he pointed to the iron-framed wristwatch that appeared completely dead. "This watch is your primary means of communication with us from the inside. If the situation permits, I want you to check in with us every day once the coast is clear."
