Chapter 36 - the end of evelyn

🟥 Scene: Extraction – Enemy Facility / Nighttime

50 armed guards patrol the compound. Inside, James is unconscious in a chair — restrained, bruised. The room is dimly lit. Surveillance flickers. Joshua is at a terminal nearby, typing something in. Evelyn sits across the room, sharpening her blade.

Suddenly…

Smoke seeps in through the vents. Red lights flicker. An alarm rings.

Guard (choking):

"What the hell is this?!"

Another guard:

"Smoke—no… it's gas! Put your—!"

They collapse.

Toxic gas floods the room. Screams. Blood.

Then footsteps.

Martin enters slowly — black suit, heavy coat, gas mask. Behind him are Dr. Fredrick and George, fully geared.

Martin (voice distorted):

"What happened?

Ah… you all got absorbed.

That's what happens when you breathe poison and stand in my way."

A guard stumbles toward him. Martin draws his knife.

One swift motion — throat cut.

The guard collapses, gasping.

Dr. Fredrick (calmly):

"Area's clear. Another squad's coming down from upstairs."

Martin:

"Don't let them walk out."

🔪 Scene: Joshua's Last Words

Joshua is typing something frantically on the screen — trying to shut the system down.

Joshua (hearing a sound):

"Huh—?"

He turns.

Martin stands behind him, mask now off, eyes like a dead man smiling.

Joshua (whispers):

"…You?"

Martin (calmly):

"Sorry. This is where we end."

He drives a knife through Joshua's neck. Blood pours. Joshua falls, twitching.

Joshua (choking):

"…Where… are my guards…?"

Martin:

"Dead. By us. Try harder next time."

🩸 Scene: Evelyn's End

The main chamber. Evelyn stands as the smoke clears. She holds her blade.

Evelyn (seeing him):

"You…

You always come back. You love me. Admit it."

Martin:

"I don't even care enough to hate you."

Evelyn (screaming):

"I'll carve your heart out—!"

She charges.

Martin pulls his pistol.

One shot. Chest.

She stumbles.

Second shot. Shoulder.

She drops the blade.

Third shot — head.

She collapses instantly.

Martin (coldly, watching her body):

"Guess I was too polite last time."

🟦 Scene: Rescue

James is unconscious. Blood on his face. Martin walks over and cuts the ropes. James barely opens his eyes.

Martin (stoic):

"Let's not do this again."

He lifts James up on his shoulder — like carrying a bag of meat — and walks slowly out.

🏚️ Outside – Abandoned Building

Martin lays James down on a cold floor inside an old structure. The moon is out. The wind howls.

Behind them —

BOOM.

The facility explodes into flame and smoke.

Martin stares for a second. Then walks away, not saying a word.
