Chapter 45

RAVEN'S PEAK ~~ CASTLE
Ava and Lucian could be seen laying on the bed cuddling each other.
Ava stopped crying some minutes ago so they came back to the room.
She was currently sleeping and Lucian would stare at her at different intervals thinking about something.
He let go of her slowly and put a pillow so she'd think it's still him. He covered her with the duvet before going out of the room.
He walked downstairs and met Gorya sitting at the dining drinking a glass of blood.
"Gorya" He called going to sit opposite her on the chair.
"You have questions..ask away" She said dropping the blood.
"I came to you because apparently you seem to know everything" He said and she just stared at him.
"Why do I want to mate with her?" He asked and she smiled.
"That question is directed to you. Why do you?"
"I don't know"
"You do" She said with a smile and he scoffed standing up.
"This was a bad idea" He said and was about to go when she stood and spoke.
"In your last life, you never wanted to mate with her. You only loved her and it stopped there. The love didn't grow, it just stayed in the little part of you and that's why you could kill her. Destiny can be changed Lucian and you know it" She said and walked away with the glass of blood.
He looked back at her many thoughts running through his head.
He sighed sadly wishing his brother was here. That was the only guy who understood him and knows a lot about women.
He sighed going upstairs.
"I can't love her. I already killed her before and I don't think she'd even keep loving me once she finds out" He said then stopped walking.
"That's if she evens love me" He muttered.
"She shouldn't" He mumbled before continuing his walk.
Gorya walked out of the kitchen and looked at his retreating figure letting out a slow smile.
NOON ~~
Ava yawned tiredly and stretched on the bed before sitting up.
She looked at her side but couldn't find Lucian. She looked at the terrace and met him standing there, his back was turned on her.
She got down from the bed and walked to him standing beside him.
"You've been lost in thought lately, what's the reason?" She asked.
"I'm just confused about some certain things" He said without looking at her.
"I'm sorry for yesterday" He said still not looking at her.
"It's okay" She muttered.
"I don't even know why it's hurting me whenever I remember how you cried and to think I told you to stop crying because of Thomas yet I made you cry" He said leaving the terrace.
He walked to the closet and brought out a black T-shirt and a black baggy jean. He went into the restroom and closed the door.
He went to shower again.
She looked at the bathroom and breath out staring down at the garden and the flowers there.
After some minutes, she heard the restroom door open and she turned.
He was putting on his clothes already and he turned to her.
"I have to meet with the ministers of another vampire clan up north. I'd be back tomorrow evening" He said and sped off.
She bit her lips and sighed before going to sit on the bed. She stood up and walked out of the room going to the study room. She saw the book Lucian was reading some days ago and she went to sit on the chair there.
"Fate" She muttered.
That's the name of the book.
She opened it and started reading.
"Once upon a time, a vampire named Andy had a werewolf mate named Ericka. They both got married not because of love, but because of a reason known to them. They both began falling deeply for each other" Ava kept reading and she kept smiling at some romantic side. The smile disappeared when she got close to the end. She frowned when she finished the book. She read the author's thought on the story.
"Their love was a forbidden love, a love that they knew won't last. A love that was too toxic for both of them. At the end, they both died" She mumbled and bit her lips closing the book.
She dropped it and stood up leaving the study room with different thoughts going through her head.
She went downstairs and sat at the dining. Gorya came with a glass of warm blood and handed it to her.
"Are you okay?" She asked settling on a chair beside her.
"I don't even know" Ava muttered staring at the blood.
"You're still hurt about what he did yesternight and you're more hurt that he's being too hard on himself" Gorya said and she looked at her.
"Exactly. That's....wait a minute" Ava said and looked at her.
"Are you really a vampire?" Ava asked.
"Do you love him?" Gorya asked instead.
Ava bit her lips.
"I don't like the fact that he's being too hard on himself. I already forgave him" Ava said ignoring the question.
"He is hurt because he hurt you and made you cry just like how Thomas made you cry"
"He didn't betray me so he shouldn't feel bad" Ava mumbled.
"He pushed you away when you both were getting intimate, that hurt is way different than betrayal. It has it's own type of pain" Gorya said and she sighed.
"It doesn't matter anymore. I'm not angry at him"
"But you love him?" Gorya asked.
"I..."
"Don't waste your time lying, I know" Gorya cut her off and Ava sighed.
"He's my hubby after all and I guess I fell for him. Too bad he doesn't love me back" She muttered sadly.
"How sure are you?" Gorya asked with a smile.
Ava bit her lips and Gorya held her hand.
"The journey you're heading is not an easy one. I want you to be strong enough to handle it" Gorya said.
"Then train me to be stronger Gorya" Ava replied and Gorya smiled again.
"You are already strong physically but not emotionally. You have to be strong emotionally else, you'll not make it to the end of the journey" Gorya said and Ava inhaled and exhaled.
"Alright Gorya. Thank you"
"My pleasure. Tell Amy we ain't training today anymore. You need to rest" She said.
"I've rested enough"
"Rested enough? You cried to sleep for fúck sake. You will go and sleep Ava" Gorya said sternly and Ava nodded.
She stood and smiled at Gorya before leaving the castle.
AMY'S MANSION ~~
Amy was in the room watching descendants on her phone when she heard the door bell.
She paused the show and got down from the bed heading downstairs. She was putting on a black off shoulder short dress and a pair of black boots.
She got to the door and opened it.
"Hey Amy" Ava greeted with a smile.
"How are you doing?" Amy asked.
"I'm better. Just need some sleep" Ava said and Amy nodded.
"We can't go training today, we'd do it tomorrow. Sorry" Ava said and Amy smiled.
"There's no need to apologize. We can as well do it tomorrow or any day of your choice, I'm not rushing" Amy said.
"Thank you" Ava said and Amy hugged her.
"Anytime" Amy said and Ava reciprocated the hug.
They broke it and Ava went away.
Amy closed the door and was going back upstairs when the door bell rang.
"Who is it?" She asked but got no reply.
She went to the kitchen and got a knife which she held in front of her. She walked slowly to the door and opened it.
Her eyes widened at who she saw.
