Chapter 142 - DSMW [142]

"I'm going to fuse my entire Deck!"

An absolutely over-the-top Fusion move. The Spell Card Future Fusion, already powerful for letting you Fusion Summon using materials from the Deck, was now being pushed to its absolute limit.

And Deion wasn't holding back. He literally flung his entire Deck into it.

Selecting Fusion Materials from the Deck? Not a single card went to waste. He used Future Fusion's effect to its fullest—1000%.

"According to Future Fusion's effect, I send Cyber Dragon, Cyber Dragon Core, Proto-Cyber Dragon, Armored Cyberwing, Cyber Barrier Dragon... a total of 30 Machine monsters from my Deck to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon!"

As Deion listed them off, all of his Monster Cards were sucked into the swirling special effects of Future Fusion, leaving only Spells and Traps to auto-shuffle back into his Spirit Eyes system before they hit the ground.

Good thing this was the Spirit Continent. Every card was soul-bound to its Duelist and automatically returned when thrown. Otherwise, chucking entire Decks would be far less elegant.

Within the unfolding Future Fusion animation, the ultimate Machine Fusion Monster born from Deion's entire Deck descended with a mechanical roar, slamming onto the Duel Platform.

"Behold the monster that embodies the power of my whole Deck—Chimeratech Overdragon!!"

[Chimeratech Overdragon] Level 9│DARK│Machine / Fusion / Effect│? ATK

["Cyber Dragon" + 1 or more Machine monsters]

The condition was Cyber Dragon plus at least one Machine monster. That "at least one" was the key—Deion had used twenty-nine.

Kevin eyed it warily. "A monster with '?' ATK and DEF..."

"Chimeratech Overdragon's Attack is equal to the number of Fusion Materials used x800!"

From the massive steel dragon body emerged dragon heads—all mechanical, all distinct. One, two, three... until there were thirty roaring heads, revealing the full insanity of this fusion.

Aisha muttered, making a Mokey Mokey face, "Too many heads... kinda gross."

Ren chimed in, "Yeah, it looks like a metal hedgehog. Weird."

Miles raised his voice, "What are you girls talking about?! This is beyond cool!"

The aesthetic divide between duelists and normies. No card fanatic could resist the thrill of fusing into a thirty-headed Chimeratech Overdragon.

"With 30 monsters used, its final ATK is 24000!"

[Chimeratech Overdragon, ATK: 24000]

The crowd exploded. Deion opened with a bomb and reignited the audience's cooled enthusiasm.

"24000 Attack?!"

Vice Principal Raiden practically leapt from his seat. His budget had only just recovered from rebuilding the Duel Platform…

"Deion Kaiser, what are you doing?! Isn't 10,000 ATK enough?! Why does it have to be twenty-four thousand?!"

If every Festival match kept going like this, Raiden's poor heart wouldn't last the day.

"When Chimeratech Overdragon is Fusion Summoned, all other cards on my field are sent to the Graveyard, including Future Fusion."

The Equip version of Future Fusion had a clause: if it was destroyed, the Fusion Monster it summoned would be destroyed as well. But Overdragon's send-to-Graveyard effect wasn't considered destruction, so it remained.

In fact, now that Future Fusion was gone, Overdragon had one less weakness.

"But monsters summoned this way can't attack the turn they're summoned."

So Kevin was safe—for now. His Red-Eyes Black Dragon wouldn't be vaporized by 24000 ATK this turn.

"Yet, I'm not done! I activate the Spell Card: Monster Reborn!"

Deion hurled another Spell Card into play. A holy cross of light revived a fallen Machine monster sent to the Graveyard by Future Fusion.

"I choose to Special Summon Cyber Dinosaur from the Graveyard in Attack Position!"

[Cyber Dinosaur] Level 7│LIGHT│Machine / Effect│2500 ATK

A Level 7 Mechanical T-Rex, stronger than Red-Eyes by 100 ATK.

"Battle! Cyber Dinosaur, destroy Red-Eyes Black Dragon! Tyrant Roar!"

With a difference of just 100 ATK, the laser blast from the mechanical beast's maw took Red-Eyes out of the sky.

[Kevin, LP: 4000 → 3900]

However, the dragon didn't shatter like usual. Time seemed to freeze.

"When Red-Eyes Black Dragon is destroyed in battle, I activate the hand effect of Red-Eyes Retro Dragon—reverse time!"

[If a Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster you control is destroyed by battle or your opponent's effect: Special Summon this card from your hand in Defense Position, then revive the destroyed monster in the same position.]

The wounds on Red-Eyes healed, and it returned.

[Red-Eyes Black Dragon, ATK: 2400]

[Red-Eyes Retro Dragon, DEF: 1600]

Two monsters on Kevin's field now, thanks to Retro Dragon's quick effect.

"You think two monsters can stop me? Next turn, Overdragon can attack a number of times equal to its Fusion Materials!"

With 30 materials used, Overdragon could attack 30 times.

Thirty hits at 24000 ATK. Apocalyptic.

"Turn end!"

"My turn. Draw."

Even with no Set cards on Deion's field, Kevin couldn't afford to attack. One wrong move against Overdragon meant instant defeat.

He had to go all out, even on defense.

"I activate the Spell Card: Pot of Greed! I draw 2 cards."

Scanning his new cards, Kevin paused for two seconds, then made a bold move.

"I Tribute Red-Eyes Black Dragon to perform an Advanced Summon!"

Aisha said, "Wait, using a Level 7 monster for a single tribute?"

Unless the new monster was worth it, that was a net loss.

"I Tribute Summon in Defense Position: Meteor Dragon Red-Eyes Impact!"

A meteor-streaking monster took Red-Eyes' place.

[Meteor Dragon Red-Eyes Impact] Level 6│DARK│Dragon / Gemini│2000 DEF

Gemini monsters start as Normal Monsters, but can be resummoned to activate their effects.

Deion said, "A hidden-effect Gemini? Too bad, you already used your Normal Summon. It's just vanilla now."

"No. It seems you truly don't know Gemini Monsters."

[While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect.]

"Time, accelerate! I Normal Summon a second time this turn!"

With that bonus summon integrated into the effect of the Meteor Red-Eyes, Kevin reactivated the Gemini monster's effect.

[While on the field, other "Red-Eyes" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects.]

Now, all Red-Eyes monsters on Kevin's field had destruction immunity. That was his plan to survive Overdragon.

"Next, I activate the Trap Card I Set last turn: Red-Eyes Spirit!"

[Target 1 "Red-Eyes" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it.]

"Revive Red-Eyes Black Dragon in Defense Position!"

[Red-Eyes Black Dragon, DEF: 2000]

Thanks to Meteor Red-Eyes, Red-Eyes could no longer be destroyed.

"Finally, I Set 3 cards and activate the Continuous Spell: Mirage of Nightmare!"

[During your opponent's Standby Phase: Draw until you have 4 cards in hand. During your Standby Phase: Discard the same number you drew.]

"Turn end."

Pot of Greed and Mirage of Nightmare—both forbidden-level cards. Only someone with Kevin's Skill Credit ranking could fight Deion's Future Fusion like this.

"An interesting combo. My turn. Draw."

As Deion drew, Mirage of Nightmare activated.

"I draw until I have 4 cards."

Drawing four more cards, Kevin's hand swirled in the illusion of Mirage.

Deion grinned, "Cards that you'll just have to discard. And anyway, you think Meteor Red-Eyes can block thirty attacks?!"

The monster protected other Red-Eyes, but had no protection itself. Overdragon could simply destroy it first.

"You're wrong, Deion Kaiser! I activate the Trap: Taunt!"

[During your opponent's Main Phase 1: Target 1 monster you control. Your opponent must target that monster for all attacks this turn.]

"I target Red-Eyes Black Dragon with Taunt. Now you can only attack it!"

In Defense Position and immune to destruction, Red-Eyes raised a claw and provocatively gestured.

"Hahahahaha! Hilarious! Kevin Seth, you're a Duelist who knows how to fight back!"

Acknowledgement between rivals. Kevin had blocked the Overdragon combo, and Deion's fighting spirit only blazed brighter.

"Then how about this!"

He played a new card drawn this turn. With his entire monster lineup now in the Graveyard, the odds of drawing a key Spell/Trap had soared.

"Quick-Play Spell: Cybernetic Fusion Support! I pay half my Life Points to banish Fusion Materials from my Graveyard this turn!"

[Deion, LP: 4000 → 2000]

A steep price—but for Deion and Cyber Dragons, the road to hell was where the real shine began.

"I bet it all! Spell Card: Power Bond!"

[Send materials from your hand or field to Fusion Summon a Machine Fusion Monster. It gains ATK equal to its original ATK, but you take that much damage at the end of the turn.]

"Using Cybernetic Fusion Support and Power Bond, I banish 3 Cyber Dragons from my Graveyard to Fusion Summon!"

The 3 Cyber Dragons reappeared briefly before fusing together into a fusion beyond even what he used against Miles.

"The light of ultimate evolution! Witness your end! Power Bond Fusion Summon—Cyber End Dragon!!"

[Cyber End Dragon] Level 10│LIGHT│Machine / Fusion / Effect│4000 ATK

Roaring louder than ever, the overcharged Cyber End Dragon stood beside Overdragon, now twice its normal size.

"Due to Power Bond, its ATK doubles!"

[Cyber End Dragon, ATK: 4000 → 8000]

First, a 24000-point Chimeratech Overdragon, now an 8000-point Cyber End Dragon.

Deion Kaiser had pushed his Cyber Dragon deck to its absolute limit in this Duel.

"...When did he become this strong?"

Even Kaima was stunned by the transformation. Whatever triggered this growth, she had no idea… but Deion was now a completely different Duelist.
