The next morning, the smell of grilled fish and fresh rice lingered in the air, drifting through the windows of Kakashi's home. The breakfast table was warm and quiet, but a serious air hung over the room like a curtain waiting to fall.
Kakashi leaned back in his seat, his eyes calm but focused, different from the wild ones last night. Tsunade sat across from him with a half-empty cup of tea, while Kurenai and Anko shared a cushion to the side. Plates had been cleared, but no one moved yet, everyone was waiting for him to speak.
"It's time, Danzo needs to be taken out."Kakashi finally said in a low voice. He wasn't about to let Danzo live much longer.
"Finally saying it out loud, huh?" Anko raised an eyebrow.
"The evidence I've collected from the elders, the blackmail, the off-the-books experiments, even his role in the Uchiha Massacre, there's more than enough to bring him down. Reasonably and otherwise." Kakashi nodded.
"Good. That bastard has lived far too long under Konoha's roof." Tsunade didn't hesitate to support Kakashi.
She then slammed her tea down, a faint crack forming in the wooden table.
"No one wants him gone more than me," she added.
"Then let me and Sasuke handle it." Kakashi gave her a knowing look.
"Is this for the Uchiha?" Tsunade blinked, then narrowed her eyes slightly.
"Yes," Kakashi said. "Sasuke knows everything now. The real truth, and what the elders and Danzo did."
"You told him the truth?" Kurenai looked surprised.
"He needed to know," Kakashi said, folding his arms. "And now he has the right to act."
"So… what's the plan?" Anko glanced between them.
"Come to the basement. I've already called Sasuke. He'll be here soon." Kakashi said as he stood up and walked toward the hallway.
Kakashi's Basement, about 15 Minutes Later
The room was dimly lit by lanterns, lined with scrolls and storage seals. The atmosphere looked heavy, and Tsunade noticed immediately the sealing barriers in place. Kakashi had reinforced the room for privacy and protection.
Sasuke arrived with a quiet poof of smoke. His Sharingan was already active, spinning faintly as he stared at Kakashi.
"You said you had something for me," he said bluntly.
"I do," Kakashi replied. "Danzo. We're going after him."
Sasuke's eyes widened, and then glowed. His chakra surged around him in waves as his Mangekyō flared with burning intensity.
"So it's finally happening…" he whispered in a trembling voice.
"Calm down, you'll get your shot. But we do this clean."Kakashi raised his hand to calm him down.
Sasuke took a deep breath, his chakra retracting slightly but still thrumming with emotion.
Kakashi continued. "Danzo still holds some underground power. He's maintained connections even after Orochimaru left. I plan to use that. We'll disguise the message, pretend Orochimaru is looking to meet him. Danzo can't resist the idea of unfinished business."
"You think he'll fall for it?" Kurenai asked.
"Without a doubt, His paranoia won't let him ignore it." Kakashi nodded.
"What about Orochimaru himself?" Tsunade asked warily.
Kakashi shook his head. "I've tracked him. Ever since his hands were sealed, he's been hiding and experimenting. He won't risk coming back to Konoha, at least not yet."
"Still, I'll have a medic squad ready just in case," Tsunade grunted.
"Good," Kakashi said. "Once Danzo leaves the village, you, Tsunade, will confirm his departure using your network. Then gather the elite ANBU and ninja squads, and seize Root's base."
"You want to completely dismantle it." Kurenai looked serious now.
"We have to," Kakashi said. "If we leave even a thread of Danzo's network, someone else will just pull it. The Roots must be purged."
"I'll send messages the moment Danzo's presence is gone," Tsunade confirmed. "We'll strike fast."
"These are the documents. Evidence gathered through my seals from the elders. Letters, authorizations for experimentation, even internal orders about the Uchiha." Kakashi nodded and unsealed a scroll, spreading it open.
Sasuke stepped forward and looked down at the scroll. His face was stone, but his fists were clenched.
"You've read it?" he asked.
Kakashi nodded.
. "And you still want me to be the one to finish him?" Sasuke's voice lowered
"You deserve that closure," Kakashi said. "But I'll be there, just in case."
Sasuke stared at him for a moment before nodding, quietly grateful.
"Before we go, you should know something," Kakashi added. "Danzo's right arm is embedded with Hashirama's cells."
"What?" Tsunade growled.
"Hashirama's cells?" Kurenai repeated, shocked.
"He's using them to regulate multiple Sharingan embedded in his arm," Kakashi said gravely. "It gives him high chakra reserves, probably healing, and access to powerful techniques unique to Sharingan."
Sasuke's eyes flared again, his aura exploding with rage.
"And those eyes?" he asked, but he already knew the answer.
"Taken from Uchiha corpses," Kakashi confirmed. "After the massacre."
"Those are my clan's eyes!" Sasuke roared, chakra flaring violently.
"How dare they touch Grandfather's body… again! Haven't they taken enough from us?!" Tsunade's own chakra surged, golden and furious chakra spreading around.
"Calm down," Kakashi said, stepping forward and placing a hand on her shoulder. "The project to study wood style was shut down officially, but Orochimaru and Danzo continued it."
"And succeeded with one person," Tsunade said, her eyes narrowing. She already knew about Tenzo from the old man's files.
Kakashi nodded. "Tenzo. The only known subject who survived. He was taken by Root. I had to go there myself to retrieve him."
"Danzo didn't want to give him up," Tsunade guessed.
"No," Kakashi said, "but the Third Hokage forced a compromise. That's how Tenzo joined ANBU under me."
"Don't worry, he will be protected." Tsunade looked pained but nodded.
"Danzo won't leave the village for anyone but someone who tempts his obsession," Kakashi continued. "I'll use white snakes summonings, repurposed to carry false Orochimaru chakra. It'll lure Danzo out."
"You've been storing snake chakra?" Anko raised an eyebrow.
"I've had my share of contact," Kakashi said dryly. "I only need enough to make the signature convincing."
"Once Danzo's gone, and I confirm it," Tsunade said, taking command now, "I'll lock down Root and arrest anyone resisting. With this proof, we'll bury Danzo's legacy for good."
"I'll leave behind a shadow clone," Kakashi added. "It'll assist with barriers and any traps you find. My seal techniques should override all of Danzo's. Seals"
"And if he escapes you?" Kurenai asked carefully.
"He won't. Not with me and Sasuke both there." Kakashi smiled faintly.
"He won't make it past me." Sasuke's eyes were blazing again.
"Save some vengeance for after breakfast next time, kid," Anko smirked and gave him a light jab on the arm.
"We will move tomorrow morning, That geezer won't see it coming," Tsunade said as she straightened up.
"I'll have the message sent tonight. Be ready." Kakashi nodded.
