Later that evening, just minutes before the scheduled get-together with Freddie, Lisa glanced at the watch on her wrist and lifted her head with an impatient huff.
She was dressed in elegant clothes, her makeup carefully done, which only made her look even prettier than usual, though the frown on her face dulled it a little bit.
"Hey," Yohan called as he came into view.
She shot up from the bench. "What took you so long? He's been blowing up my phone nonstop. And where's the girl you said you were bringing?"
"Sorry about that," Yohan said. "It took her a while to get ready."
At that moment, Chloe stepped out from behind him.
For a second, Lisa forgot what she was about to say. Chloe looked stunning—far more than Lisa had imagined, to the point it caught her off guard.
"Wow," Lisa said honestly. "I always thought you were pretty in class, but seeing you like this…" She trailed off, shaking her head. "I don't even know what to say."
