Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: You’re Way Too Obvious When You’re Jealous!

Miura had never been in a relationship before. Not once. She had absolutely no idea how one was even supposed to go about dating a girl.

That said, she was completely convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Yukinoshita had a crush on her.

Heh. Sure, Yukinoshita always put on that cool, unaffected act, but Miura had already seen right through it.

Her jealousy was way too obvious!

After a brief discussion session in class, Yuigahama had returned to her seat, while Yukinoshita still looked totally out of it.

She was holding a foreign-language novel, flipping through it absently, but hadn't turned a page in ages. Her eyes usually so clear and bright now looked unfocused, staring off into space.

After sitting next to her for two whole months, Miura could proudly say she understood Yukinoshita fairly well.

Yukinoshita only ever pulled out those foreign novels when she was trying to calm herself down. She'd grab one from her bag and flip through it until her mood stabilized.

Her emotional self-control was honestly terrifying normally, she'd regain her composure in just a few minutes.

But even now, right before class started, she still seemed unsettled.

So I really am that important to Yukinoshita, huh.

To think I could throw her off this much… ehehe.

The usually unshakable Yukinoshita, who acted like nothing ever fazed her, was actually this fixated on her!

Miura's heart swelled half with smug satisfaction, half with a quiet pang of sympathy.

Yukinoshita was so easy to make jealous. Just seeing someone pass Miura a love letter was enough to completely ruin her mood. What was going to happen in the future?

Back in elementary school, Miura used to get a whole box of chocolates every Valentine's Day. She'd always been super popular.

Things had calmed down a bit since she joined the Disciplinary Committee and built up more of an intimidating reputation, but she still got the occasional sneaky confession.

She was planning to talk to Yukinoshita right after this class to clear the air and explain that she had zero interest in that Tanishi guy or whatever his name was. Not even a little. She'd never go for someone like that.

As for what kind of person she actually liked…

Ahem. Well, that was something Yukinoshita would just have to ask her herself.

The bell rang. Yukinoshita, who had been spacing out, finally came to and tucked away her foreign novel.

She was feeling a little down but it had nothing to do with the over-imaginative, self-satisfied blonde sitting beside her.

Last weekend, after going home, she'd carefully reviewed the "Yukinoshita 101" thread on the Sobu High forum. And after reading through everything, she came to a sobering realization.

Apparently… there were a lot of people who could qualify as potential bosses.

The post gave a detailed timeline of Yukinoshita's entire rise to notoriety from the moment she entered Sobu High charting out what it called her "Sea King Fishing Grounds," and listing the many unfortunate souls who had fallen into the depths of her ocean.

The victims included both boys and girls. Not that Yukinoshita was that shameless she certainly wasn't into everyone. The female victims had all been cheated on or dumped for her, while the male ones had either been two-timed or unceremoniously broken up with the very next day.

The success rate of "Blonde Yukinoshita's" homewrecking escapades wasn't quite 100%, but it wasn't far off either.

Wow. Blonde Yukinoshita, you're seriously something else.

Thanks to her absurdly high confession success rate, her romantic "casualties" stretched from Shikoku to Hokkaido to Tokyo. There were just too many to count.

Even the "Yukinoshita Gossip Subforum" under the Sobu High Forum's "Celebrities" board was packed with posts from people all over Japan cursing her name.

In short, there were way too many people who hated her. She couldn't even begin to guess which one of them might be the red-flagged "boss" the system had warned her about.

Given how strongly the system had flagged them, there was a good chance this person was actually dangerous.

After the incident yesterday, she'd sent a subtle message to Haruno, just to remind her to stay alert and be careful.

Of course, Haruno was so busy and scatterbrained these days that she only managed to reply that night:

"Is Yukino feeling lonely? Are you missing your big sister~?"

"Aww, Yukino's just a helpless little kid who can't go one day without her onee-chan~"

Yukinoshita had very nearly deleted and blocked her on the spot.

Still, even if Haruno always acted like a clown around her, she was trustworthy in more serious situations. On top of that, the Yukinoshita family had been aggressively expanding their business lately, which had earned them some envious enemies.

Whether Haruno noticed or not, their mother would definitely have tightened security around her. After all, Haruno had always been the family's golden child the one who carried all their hopes and expectations.

After the foreign language class ended, Miura immediately wanted to stand up and clarify things with Yukinoshita. She didn't want any misunderstandings about that guy who gave her the letter she really wasn't into younger guys at all!

But just as the teacher stepped out, someone knocked on the door of Class 2-F's room.

Several first-years boys and girls were standing outside, looking extremely nervous.

"M-Miura-senpai…"

Miura blinked at them in confusion. Then, suddenly, a horrible thought struck her.

No way… that guy, Tanishi or whatever he didn't seriously come to our classroom to confess, did he?!

Yukinoshita was already furious just from seeing him pass her a letter. If she saw him come confess in person…

Bro, I am seriously worried for your safety!

Miura frantically nudged Junko, Zeika, and Yui, who were all watching the scene unfold with amused expressions.

"Which one of them is Tanishi?"

Yuigahama quickly tugged on her sleeve. "It's Ishida. His name's Ishida-kun!"

Whatever!

The only thing that mattered now was rejecting Ishida-kun immediately. The last thing she wanted was for Yukinoshita to go full assassin mode.

If something actually happened to him, she'd be wracked with guilt for the rest of her life! ╰(´︶`)╯

Junko gave her a curious look. "You're looking pretty excited, Yumiko. Don't tell me you actually like that first-year?"

Miura quickly wiped the giddy look off her face and shot her a glare.

What are you saying?!

Yukinoshita was already upset enough no need to make it worse!

Zeika squinted at the little group outside. "Huh? Ishida-kun's not even here."

Eh?

Miura let out a huge sigh of relief.

He wasn't here. That meant Yukinoshita wouldn't blow up.

Thank goodness! Thank goodness!

But just then, one of the shy boys glanced at his watch and spoke up.

"Miura-senpai… Ishida's at the school broadcast station right now, mustering up the courage to confess to you."

"He said… he really hopes you'll take his feelings seriously…"

Miura: ?????????????

Shut up!!!

The world's number one Yukinoshita fan absolutely couldn't handle hearing something like that!
