Destiny's voice echoed throughout the space. Jiang Qingtong and Jiang Shengyu both quickly covered their ears and shut their eyes.
Only after Destiny's roar had faded did Qingtong rub her ears and mutter,
"I didn't even do anything! I was just in the dorm imprinting Feixin's Golden Dragon martial soul… and suddenly I end up here?"
"That is the Auspicious Beast! Deep in her soul is half of the Sea God's daughter. Her bloodline descends from the Dragon God itself—that Golden Dragon is the shadow of the Dragon King! And you actually dared to imprint her martial soul just like that!?" Destiny glared at Qingtong, chest rising and falling rapidly.
"Why not?" Qingtong shot back.
"Of course not! If I hadn't reacted fast enough to pull you in here, that surge of force would have blasted your mind into ruin!" Destiny was so angry that all of its earlier elegance was gone.
Shengyu raised his hand.
"Then why drag me here too?"
Destiny rolled its eyes.
"Are you dense? You two are the same person!"
Shengyu fell silent.
Right. They were the same person.
He had almost forgotten.
After steadying itself, Destiny continued,
"Next time, don't be so reckless! When you know someone's bloodline and soul are out of the ordinary, you should be even more cautious!"
"Then… did I succeed in imprinting this time?" Qingtong frowned, still most concerned with that.
Destiny paused, then answered,
"Consider it… successful, I suppose. But the Golden Dragon is unlike other martial souls—it is not a human martial soul. It relies on the bloodline of the Three-Eyed Golden Lion to sustain it. Without that bloodline support, you will find it hard to wield smoothly."
Qingtong sighed.
"I understand."
"I suggest you find a chance to visit the Ice–Fire Yin Yang Well. There lie the remains of the Water Dragon King and Fire Dragon King. The immortal herbs that grow there can also purge the evil fire within your Evil Fire Phoenix.
"Though with me here you need not fear its influence too much, leaving it unchecked will always be a hidden danger. If you can obtain the twin Dragon Kings' legacies and refine their bloodline into yourself, then with my aid, sustaining the Golden Dragon martial soul will be no issue."
The location of the Ice–Fire Yin Yang Well was imprinted directly into their minds.
Shengyu asked,
"Can't you just give us the Dragon God's bloodline directly?"
Destiny fell silent.
Qingtong added dryly,
"Aren't you supposed to be a cheat-like existence? What kind of weak 'cheat' doesn't hand over anything?"
Destiny laughed in sheer rage, lifted its hand, and with a tap kicked both of them out of the "group chat."
In the outside world, Shengyu opened his eyes to see Xiao Hongchen, Meng Hongchen, and Gu Lingjun gathered anxiously around his bed.
"Hey, he's alive!" Hongchen cried in delight when Shengyu stirred.
Shengyu sighed helplessly.
"I wasn't dead in the first place."
Gu Lingjun carefully asked about his condition. Shengyu exhaled and reassured them,
"Don't worry. I'm fine."
But Hongchen crouched down, grasping his arm with grave seriousness.
"Shengyu, it's okay. You can tell us—we can handle it! I won't look down on you just because you've got… brain problems."
"…"
Shengyu decided it wasn't worth talking to this idiot anymore. He still had to deal with Feixin on the other side.
Qingtong, meanwhile, opened her eyes to find Feixin's face inches from her own. She sucked in a sharp breath, startled.
Seeing her awake, Feixin lit up with joy.
"Qingtong! You're awake!"
"We… what happened?" Qingtong looked at her uncertainly, then glanced down at herself—thankfully, her clothes were still intact.
Feixin beamed.
"You fainted just now. I was worried you'd catch cold, so I moved you onto the bed and used my body to keep you warm! Well? Wasn't I thoughtful?"
"Very thoughtful, very thoughtful." Qingtong nodded quickly and climbed out of bed.
She glanced at the heavy quilt piled over her and rubbed her forehead. A little too thoughtful, perhaps.
Her skin, sticky with sweat, felt uncomfortable.
"I'm going to shower."
Feixin obediently stayed put. As a soul beast, her tolerance for extreme conditions was far greater than Qingtong's. In this weather, wrapped in that quilt, she only felt a bit hot—not drenched in sweat like Qingtong.
After washing and feeling refreshed, Qingtong returned. Feixin immediately asked about what had happened earlier.
Qingtong explained that the Golden Dragon martial soul required bloodline support. Hearing this, Feixin offered,
"Why not just use my bloodline? I can give you my blood—but don't tell Di Tian!"
"No need!" Qingtong shook her head firmly. She wasn't an evil soul master—why would she drain someone's blood? She knew full well how important the blood of the Auspicious Beast was to the Star Dou Forest.
Realizing Qingtong had nearly been harmed because of the bloodline issue, Feixin no longer dared to take risks. She watched over Qingtong nervously all night, but nothing else happened.
The next day, after Qingtong officially entered the Inner Court, Cai Meier suddenly summoned all Inner Court students.
In the great hall, the students assembled. At the very front sat Zhang Lexuan and others. Cai Meier stood upon the stage, surveying the crowd.
"The reason I've called everyone here today is to announce something important."
Then she turned toward the door and called out,
"Teacher Xue, you may come in!"
A tall woman with long silver-white hair stepped through the doors. A wave of icy cold swept into the hall, dropping the temperature in an instant.
The Inner Court students stared in awe at her breathtaking appearance. But Shengyu and Qingtong both froze, eyes wide with shock, as they stared at the icy figure walking onto the stage.
Standing beside her, Cai Meier continued,
"This is our academy's newest Inner Court instructor—Xue Qingnu (OC)! She is a ninety-fifth level Super Douluo. Her martial soul is the Ice–Snow Maiden, and she is an Ultimate Ice Super Douluo!"
Ice–Snow Maiden!
Ultimate Ice!
Super Douluo!
Each revelation sent a jolt through the Inner Court students' nerves. They gazed up at the woman in disbelief, then all rose and bowed.
"Greetings, Teacher Xue!"
Xuedi's calm gaze swept across them all. When her eyes fell on Shengyu and Qingtong's stunned faces, she smiled faintly.
"Greetings, students. From now on, I am your teacher. If you encounter any difficulties with ice-attribute martial soul cultivation, you may come to me."
As for why Xuedi wasn't discovered—friends, what can a group of Title Douluo and even Super Douluo do against a fully reborn Ultimate Douluo-level Snow Empress?
And why ninety-fifth level? If she openly declared herself an Ultimate Douluo, would Shrek dare believe it? Would they dare admit her?
As for people questioning whether the bloodline of the Ice–Fire Dragon Kings could support the Golden Dragon martial soul—it requires the Dragon God's bloodline plus the power of Destiny. Isn't the Three-Eyed Golden Lion precisely the inheritance of Dragon God bloodline combined with Destiny's power? Where's the problem?
And one more thing: the original canon is the truest canon. The very existence of any fanfiction protagonist already deviates from it.
Apologies—my mood hasn't been great these past few days.
