"First off, Zarah, you'd be the clan's Combat Commander."
For a moment, genuine shock crossed her face. She placed a hand lightly against her chest as if making sure I was actually referring to her. Then asked:
"Me?"
"Yes You," I said with a nod. "You'd be responsible for organizing the squads, coordinating the fighters, and establishing battlefield structure. Your job would be to form balanced groups, direct movement during battles, reorganize formations when things start falling apart, and call retreats when necessary to prevent unnecessary losses."
I paused briefly before continuing.
"Your role would become especially important during the King's Games, so prepare yourself properly for it."
Zarah still didn't respond immediately.
She simply stared at me, clearly caught off guard by the amount of responsibility I had just placed on her shoulders.
And, I understood why.
This wasn't some symbolic title. I was effectively placing the clan's combat structure in her hands.
