Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Step into the Unknown!

Chapter 2

The next day, the sun rose over the city of Misuya, its rays sneaking through the rising dust, attempting to breathe life back into the ruins of destruction. The area that had witnessed the massacre was now surrounded by security barriers, separating it from the rest of the city like an unhealed wound. Investigators moved among the rubble, their faces grim, searching through the ash for clues that might explain what had happened.

In the background, media cameras broadcasted the scene, capturing images of covered bodies and charred debris, while the announcer's voice conveyed the truth with an official monotone, yet weighed down by the gravity of the tragedy:

"We are now in the heart of Misuya, where a horrific incident occurred last night, claiming the lives of dozens. Investigation teams are working tirelessly to uncover the circumstances surrounding this disaster. We will provide updates as soon as they become available."

---

At the Magic School, Suero stared at the news broadcast, the reflection of the screen dancing in his eyes, while thoughts piled up in his mind. His gaze was not merely filled with worry; it carried something deeper... an awareness, or perhaps a decision taking shape.

He muttered under his breath, barely audible, but his determination was clear:

"He summoned me, Master Sbyam Brius..."

With steady hands, he removed the bandages from his old wounds, marks of past battles, and dropped them carelessly to the floor. He turned for a final glance at his room, the place where his journey had begun, then walked out with confident steps.

When he reached the schoolyard, he paused for a moment—not out of hesitation, but as if bidding farewell to a chapter of his life. He took a deep breath and declared to himself:

"I will leave this school... and join the place where Sbyam Brius belongs!"

With this decision, he moved forward toward his future, leaving behind memories he no longer belonged to.

---

In another magical school...

Sbyam, a tall and slender man with white hair, sat in a quiet corner with one hand in his pocket, watching the news with a hint of amusement, a sarcastic smile playing on his face as he observed the destruction on the screen. He tilted his head slightly, his eyes narrowing with disdain:

"What a fool, Spailo... he destroyed the entire city."

He raised his head, and his smile widened:

"My students are truly frightening."

At that moment, Moryo Raiso, the commander of Class A, approached. His steps were calm, but his gaze was charged with suppressed anger. He stood beside Sbyam, his eyes fixed on the screen, before whispering coldly:

"He's the one who did this, isn't he?"

Sbyam slowly turned to him, studying his tense features, before speaking his name as though testing his reaction:

"Moryo...?"

Moryo's jaw tightened as he stared at the scene before him, his fist involuntarily clenching. He didn't need confirmation; he already knew the answer. He muttered softly, yet his voice was thick with anger:

"That bastard!"

But Sbyam, in stark contrast, showed no concern. Instead, he responded coolly, as though discussing something trivial:

"Don't worry about him... If he does it again, I'll deal with him myself."

Moryo turned his back, preparing to leave, but before he could walk away entirely, he felt Sbyam's hand placed on his shoulder. It wasn't a stop; it was more of a silent gesture... as if the teacher was saying, "Watch and learn."

Sbyam continued walking beside him, as if nothing had happened.

---

At the School Gates

Suero reached the gates that overlooked Sbyam's school, his eyes scanning the place carefully as he realized he was stepping into a world completely different from what he had known. Before he could proceed, he was stopped by a young man named Kamyo, whose sharp features and condescending gaze exuded an air of superiority. Wearing the uniform of Class A, he crossed his arms in front of him, as if his mere presence was enough to challenge any newcomer.

Kamyo looked at him with disdain before speaking sarcastically:

"You are the one, aren't you?"

Suero raised an eyebrow with curiosity, but Kamyo didn't give him time to respond. He continued with a tone laced with mockery:

"You're from E-rank, right?"

Suero's expression remained unchanged. He simply nodded and spoke calmly with quiet confidence:

"Yes, Master Sbyam summoned me."

Kamyo furrowed his brows in frustration, as if unable to believe what he was hearing, before muttering dismissively:

"Why would he want to train the weak?"

But Suero wasn't affected. He smiled slightly, indifferent to Kamyo's attempts to provoke him. Before the latter could continue his taunting, a loud voice came from behind them:

"Suero Rashid!"

Both turned to see Sbyam Brius approaching, his hand still resting on Moryo Raiso's shoulder, who appeared uncomfortable with the gesture.

Moryo commented coldly, eyeing Sbyam's hand:

"Aren't you going to remove your hand?"

Sbyam replied with mock regret, playing the part:

"Ah, sorry!"

He finally removed his hand, though the sarcastic smile never left his face. As Moryo stayed in place, Sbyam continued walking toward Suero, stopping directly in front of him.

Suero studied the man's features for a moment before asking in a firm tone:

"Are you Master Sbyam?"

Sbyam smiled and replied without hesitation:

"Yes, welcome!"

At that moment, Moryo stepped forward to stand beside them in silence. His cold gaze met Suero's directly, breaking the silence as Suero confidently spoke:

"You're Moryo Raiso, the commander of Class A, right?"

Moryo didn't blink as he answered curtly:

"And you... are Spailo's brother."

The air between them froze for a moment, as if the silence itself had become an invisible weapon. No words were necessary; the tension was palpable.

Sbyam suddenly broke the tension, patting Suero's shoulder with feigned enthusiasm:

"Alright, go to the room!"

Suero looked at him with confusion:

"What room?"

Sbyam casually pointed toward a room behind them:

"That room!"

---

Inside the Room

Suero entered with confident steps, his eyes examining the simple yet carefully organized room. In the center, there were rows of wooden chairs, with a solitary table, free from any disorder. He sat in one of the chairs, and Sbyam closed the door behind him before stepping forward to stand in the center.

He paused for a moment, then looked at Suero with serious eyes and spoke slowly:

"As you know, sorcerer are classified by ranks, from A to E, just like monsters. You are a E sorcerer, which means you're at the bottom of the pyramid."

He paused again, then added with a small smile:

"But don't worry; true power doesn't come from classifications, it comes from training and experience."

Despite his encouraging words, something about them seemed to bother Suero, as he slightly furrowed his brows, as if the very idea irritated him. Sbyam noticed this and sighed before regaining his seriousness:

"True power comes from physical discipline and constant training. You must learn to control your breathing… oxygen is the key to your body's strength."

He paused, then added in a quieter voice, but one that was loaded with meaning:

"You will face powerful monsters, some of which were originally human… before being turned into beasts through horrific scientific experiments conducted by The World Sages."

Suero's eyes widened in shock, and he quickly asked:

"The World Sages? The highest authority in this world?"

Sbyam nodded slowly, as if aware of the weight his words carried:

"Yes… I don't know the true purpose of their experiments, but it's a real tragedy. These monsters aren't born, they're created… and when they bite humans, they transform them into creatures like themselves."

Suero clenched his fist and muttered:

"I know they reproduce that way..."

Sbyam raised an eyebrow in mild surprise, asking:

"Really?"

Suero nodded again, confirming his knowledge.

Sbyam chuckled lightly, but the seriousness quickly returned to his face as he put his hands in his pockets and said:

"Well, it seems you have some basic knowledge… but that's not enough. Starting today, you will train every day, and you will fight monsters relentlessly."

He paused, then added in a warning tone, his voice carrying a subtle hint of threat:

"Any negligence in these tasks, and I will punish you personally."

Suero hesitated for a moment before cautiously asking:

"And what is the punishment?"

Sbyam smiled slightly, but it wasn't reassuring in the slightest. He answered in a low voice, as if leaving room for Suero's imagination to fill in the blanks:

"You'll find out in due time."

In Beura City

In Beura city, the ground trembled under the weight of a giant monster, attacking mercilessly, destroying buildings and nature around it as if crushing everything in its path. The sound of rocket explosions filled the sky, but the monster continued to smash everything with its iron fist, seemingly unaffected by time. Suddenly, a pink spark pierced the sky like a glowing dagger, then penetrated deep into the monster's abdomen, causing a horrific wound. The monster groaned lowly, staggering in place as if the pain paralyzed its movements.

Then Baysal appeared, a member of Class A under Moryo's commender, surrounded by a shower of glowing pink sparks emanating from her body, as if marking her invincible strength. She smiled confidently, her eyes gleaming without hesitation, then took decisive steps toward the monster. Without a word, she delivered a powerful punch to its heart, causing it to lose balance and fall to the ground.

She shouted bravely as she attacked:

"TAKE THIS!"

Flames shot from her feet like fire in dry grass, igniting the massive monster's body. Its body caught fire, and it screamed in sharp pain, writhing as if the fire itself was devouring it from within.

Baysal paused for a moment, breathing deeply while her eyes watched the burning monster, from which thick smoke began to billow. She murmured to herself with a resigned smile:

"Though it's B-rank, it was strong."

She glanced at her watch, noticing a new mission alert. Feeling a bit exhausted, she sighed and then said sarcastically:

"Damn you, Sbyam! You'll never let me catch my breath!"

She then turned around, and in an instant, she took off, her wings glowing with sparks, heading toward the next mission location, leaving behind the smoke of the monster that began to dissipate.

In the Training Room

Inside the training room, where Suero was diligently training, Sbyam stood calmly in front of him, holding a small wooden box. He opened it slowly, as if every moment carried something significant. He took out a strange and complex watch, as if it was a piece from another world.

Suero looked at it with curiosity and raised an eyebrow, asking:

"What is this?"

Sbyam didn't bother with a long explanation, instead tossing the watch toward him and saying in a serious tone:

"It's the Mehrebot Watch. From today, you'll use it to receive tasks and challenges that I'll send directly to you."

Suero hesitated as he caught the watch, examining its strange and intricate details. He put it on his wrist, and at that moment, the watch emitted a strong light signal, causing the room to glow for a few seconds.

Moryo entered quietly, holding a coffee cup in his hand, his eyes piercing through the atmosphere of the room. He spoke in a cold voice, devoid of any emotion:

"Are you done?"

Sbyam replied with a brief smile, showing only determination:

"Almost."

He then gestured to the watch on Suero's wrist, who in turn looked at the small screen on it. A new task appeared:

"Physical Training: Run 20 kilometers."

Suero's eyes widened, his features shaking in fear. He said in a surprised tone, panting from the shock:

"What? 20 kilometers?"

Sbyam smiled with no trace of sympathy and replied confidently, unwavering:

"Yes, you have only two hours to finish it. I won't accept any delay!"

Suero took a deep breath, while his eyes filled with unwavering determination despite the shock. He said enthusiastically, despite the doubts swirling in his mind:

"I'll do my best! I'll become the strongest sorcerer in this world!"

Without turning back, Suero took off, leaving the school, determined to face the harsh training challenges that awaited him. He dragged himself up the steps and began running down the long road in front of him, but he stopped for a moment, staring at the path that seemed endless. He took a quick glance at his watch, then murmured tiredly and confused:

"Impossible… 20 kilometers? In two hours?"

But soon, he clenched his fists and closed his eyes for a moment as if to drive away his doubts, then resumed running with determination, while doubts still battled in his mind. Deep down, he knew that this step was just the beginning of his long journey toward strength.
