Chapter 51 - — The Dwelling of Souls (3)

Arthur was still sitting in his library of memories after about an hour. The endless clash of the dragon and calamity was starting to tire him.

"Hey. Old man."

The man turned towards him.

"Hm?"

"This is my world, right? So I have control over it."

"…theoretically, it depends how much of your mind you truly control. The books represent the knowledge ingrained deep in your head, and those two. Well, I'm not sure how two beings lingering in your soul are present in a figment of your mind. But you're a special case. Either way."

Arthur sighed.

"Aright then."

he took a few steps forward. And let out another bellowing sigh. Before leaping into the air and crashing into the space between the two beasts.

"Cut it out will you!"

The two stopped. Both of them looked towards Arthur. The dragon let out a voice, he had heard it before, the voice of the vestige. A deep feminine voice. The huge dragon had silver scales with a slight blue tint to each one.

"Do not interrupt us. Child."

The calamity stayed silent. Arthur looked at the dragon. And let out an annoyed groan.

"Hey. This is my mind. If you're gonna fight. Do it somewhere else."

Arthur, using his own minds control over his library. Erased the two from the library. As their powers lingered. He let out a hum.

"Well. That was…weirdly easy."

He walked back to the man. Who was staring at him with an odd look.

"What is it?"

"…do you not understand how great of a will you must have to simply…expunge, two powerful beings from your mind? A special case indeed…"

"Well. It wasn't that hard."

The man lurched forward and hit Arthur in the face. Arthur jolted awake. Getting face to face with Revan. Who was still kneeling in front of him. The clashing powers faded around him. She smiled.

"Hey."

Arthur stared at her. A particular memory from the 1000 years of memories he had gained. And he let out a scoff.

"Hey."

Revan helped Arthur stand. She took a good look at him.

"You know. You gave me a few scares. 2 years ago. 2 weeks ago, even."

"Yeah. I know."

Arthur thought for a few moments. He had forgotten how much human interaction he lacked in this world. A lack of relationships. A lack of friends. A lack of…anything. He felt like he was wasting something. The life he wanted to escape from, is eerily ending up similar to the life he escaped to.

"Anyways." Revan sighed. "You dealt with that hunk of junk?"

Arthur nodded. "…yeah. He was pretty strong, yknow?"

"Couldn't have been that strong." She chuckled.

"Well. I guess you'll never find out." Arthur started to walk. But Revan stopped him in his tracks.

"You know, you owe me a few explanations. You, don't make sense. Everything that's happened to you, doesn't make sense. We've barely talked since we got here! We had a few chats back then. But the first time I saw you again you almost killed me! And then there's that…weird blue fire thing!"

Arthur paused. And then smiled. It felt like a breath of fresh air to him. Almost silly.

"Yeah…maybe I'll tell you another time."
