Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Kushina Uzumaki Under Attack

Hiruzen Sarutobi examined the Thunder Breathing Sword Techniques scroll handed to him by Chinya.

It wasn't just satisfying anymore—it was astonishing.

Yet from Hiruzen's perspective as a master of ninjutsu, the seven sword forms of Thunder Breathing had only two—the Sixth Style and Seventh Style—with power levels equivalent to A-ranked Nin-Taijutsu techniques. The first five barely reached B-ranked strength.

As a complete set, the Full Sword Forms of Thunder Breathing could easily be classified as A-ranked.

Still, this alone was enough to amaze Hiruzen.

Because this was a full set of Taijutsu techniques—an extremely rare treasure.

Hiruzen rolled up the scroll and looked at Chinya with a look of approval. "Chinya, on behalf of Konoha, I sincerely thank you for contributing the Full Sword Forms of Thunder Breathing. What reward would you like?"

Chinya shook his head. "This is something I should naturally do. It is both my honor and reward to contribute to Konoha."

Hiruzen felt increasingly satisfied with Chinya now.

There was absolutely no doubt about his talent—he not only mastered Lightning Release chakra control, including shape and nature transformation, but also possessed the full set of Thunder Breathing Sword Techniques. As long as he continued developing steadily, becoming a Jonin was practically certain.

Most importantly, Chinya proved his unwavering loyalty to Konoha by willingly offering an entire A-ranked Nin-Taijutsu technique without hesitation.

Originally, Hiruzen had assumed that Chinya probably still harbored some resentment toward Konoha, but apparently that wasn't true.

Otherwise, there was absolutely no reason for Chinya to hand over this complete A-ranked Nin-Taijutsu technique.

Hiruzen believed Chinya was someone worth cultivating.

Moreover, possessing half-Uchiha blood within his body, Chinya might potentially play a special role in future plans concerning the Uchiha clan.

Hiruzen approached Chinya and patted his shoulder encouragingly. "Chinya, in future training, ensure your own safety first. Keep striving hard and don't let down my expectations."

Chinya slightly bowed his head, wearing an odd expression.

From Sarutobi's words, did it mean he'd be given an important position?

That was... fantastic news.

The more important responsibilities Sarutobi entrusted upon him, the smoother Chinya could execute his plans.

Lifting his head, Chinya gazed intently at the Hokage and responded firmly, "I certainly won't disappoint your expectations, Lord Hokage!"

After exchanging a few more encouraging remarks, Chinya took his leave and departed.

Once outside the Hokage Tower, Chinya let out a light sigh.

For quite some time ahead, besides training, there would essentially be nothing else for him to do.

At present, Konoha was experiencing peacetime, meaning no significant events would occur nor opportunities to gain Witness Points.

Currently, Chinya was literally flat broke—with zero Witness Points to his name.

He even began suspecting whether the System had done this on purpose—charging ten points for a Standard Katana, then thirty points each time for three chakra refills, totaling exactly one hundred Witness Points.

Chinya took a deep breath, gazing at the setting sun. He had to grow stronger—by any means necessary!

Five days later.

Today was a day off from the Ninja Academy.

Yesterday, Chinya and Kushina Uzumaki had made plans to visit the place where Chinya used to train.

Chinya had mentioned casually that the scenery there was beautiful, especially now during cherry blossom season.

Petals drifted gently through the air, scattering softly onto the streets below.

The two had agreed to meet at one in the afternoon.

Kushina, going out to play for the first time, was extremely excited. As soon as she finished lunch with Mito Uzumaki, she bolted out the door.

She wanted to beat Chinya there and hide, ready to give him a proper scare.

Kushina practically bounced with excitement as she made her way to the meeting spot.

She glanced around at the blooming sakura trees, smiling brightly. Already, she was picturing herself walking beneath the falling petals side by side with Chinya.

Suddenly—

Kushina stopped in her tracks, her smile instantly vanishing as she glared angrily ahead.

Beside the sakura tree in front stood someone.

It was that annoying brat who constantly picked on Kushina back at the Ninja Academy.

This boy gave her exactly the same look—like he'd come here today just to cause trouble.

Stepping out from behind the smaller boy came another teenager—almost a head taller than him. This older boy wore a forehead protector—he was a Genin of Konoha.

The Genin placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. Both of them smirked mischievously at Kushina.

Crossing his arms, the Genin slowly approached: "So you're the one always making my little brother cry."

Pointing at the younger boy, Kushina protested fiercely, "He always starts it! And he's just a wuss too!"

The Genin glanced at the smaller boy, who guiltily turned his face away.

Then, looking back at Kushina, he proudly pointed at his forehead protector and said smugly, "I'm a full-fledged Genin. Pretty impressive, huh? I can't let someone who bullies my brother get away with it!"

He cracked his knuckles loudly.

Kushina's eyes narrowed. Without hesitation, she leaped into the trees and bolted forward.

The Genin immediately took chase, pursuing her relentlessly.

He hurled a kunai directly at her. The weapon whizzed past Kushina and buried itself in a tree trunk beside her.

Kushina jumped back onto a tree branch ahead. Filled with determination, she charged directly at the Genin.

Surprised that she would actually confront him head-on, the Genin barely had time to react before her fist struck him square in the face, sending him crashing to the ground.

Before Kushina could even catch her breath, the fallen Genin sent up a puff of white smoke—and turned into a wooden log.

[Substitution Jutsu!]

The real Genin landed behind Kushina. With a swift chop to her neck and a hard kick to her back, he sent her tumbling to the ground.

He grabbed her by the hair and pulled her up roughly. Kushina cried out in pain.

"You didn't even notice the substitution?" he mocked coldly. "Still just a child, huh?"

"So damn red! Looks like stiff wires sticking out everywhere — what an eyesore!"

One brat sneered at Kushina beside her: "Hah! Serves ya right!"

Kushina Uzumaki started sobbing.

Arriving on the scene, Chinya spotted Kushina with her hair yanked back and tears streaming down her face.

Fury exploded inside Chinya's skull, a storm of rage flooding every thought.

The brat noticed Chinya not far away and pointed at him: "Boss, that traitor showed up again — and he's with this bitch!"

A Genin twisted his neck and grinned ferociously: "Then we'll show both these backstabbers what happens to traitors. Been waiting for this moment forever."

Kushina saw Chinya and screamed at him: "Chinya, run quickly!"

At this moment, Chinya had nearly lost all sanity. Already holding the Standard Katana with multiple notches in hand, Chinya crouched slightly into a fighting stance. [Lightning Aura] began crackling around Chinya's body.
