Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Questions About Power Levels — The Martial Path Ahead

A year passed in the blink of an eye.

West City.

Lynx stepped out of the 100x gravity chamber, looking visibly frustrated.

Lately, he felt like he'd hit a bottleneck in his training.

For the past three months, while his power level had still been rising—albeit slowly—he remained unable to fully transform into the Legendary Super Saiyan.

No matter what he tried, he could only manage the standard Super Saiyan form.

As for the unique transformation exclusive to the Legendary Super Saiyan bloodline, he simply couldn't access it.

Frowning, Lynx pulled up his status panel:

Name: Lynx

Power Level: 1.28 million

Bloodline: Legendary Super Saiyan

Skills: Instant Transmission, Ki Mastery, Beginner Martial Genius (passive)

Looking at that number, Lynx was reminded of another strange phenomenon—

Ever since surpassing one million, his power level growth had noticeably slowed down.

But with his rare Legendary Super Saiyan bloodline, shouldn't his power be skyrocketing like a rocket?

He'd trained relentlessly, yet it had only increased by a mere 200,000 over three months?

It was kind of depressing.

He thought back to the original series—during the Cell Saga, Gohan's power had soared from hundreds of thousands to several million in about a year.

Compared to that kind of growth… Lynx's felt disappointing.

Something felt off.

It seemed like in this world, once a Saiyan's power level exceeded one million, progress slowed dramatically.

That suspicion was further reinforced by Broly.

Despite sharing the same legendary bloodline, and gaining power passively without much training, Broly's power had only just reached the 800,000 range three months ago—far from his absurd numbers in the original.

Lynx was puzzled.

Just then, the roof of the gravity chamber behind him suddenly collapsed.

The thunderous crash startled the Brief family.

Staring at the ruined chamber, everyone was dumbfounded.

Tights rushed over, worried:

"Lynx! Are you okay?!"

"Huh? Oh—I'm fine."

Finally realizing what happened, Lynx turned back to the wreckage, scratching his head awkwardly.

"Sorry, Doc. Looks like… the 100x gravity chamber isn't enough anymore."

"What?!"

Dr. Brief's cigarette dropped straight from his mouth.

"Don't tell me… you've gotten used to 100x gravity already?!"

"Honestly? I've been used to it since three months ago. Doctor, think you can make a new one? Something stronger—maybe up to 500x gravity?"

"F-Five hundred?! Lynx, your body weight's about 200 pounds, right? That's going to feel like 50 tons pressing on you. Are you sure you can handle that?!"

"No problem. I'll adapt gradually!"

"Even so… Earth's materials probably can't handle that much density. I can start designing it, but you'll need to find me some higher-density metal. Otherwise, I'm afraid it just won't hold."

"Got it. I'll have the Saiyans from Planet Vegeta handle that."

Having made arrangements with Dr. Brief, Lynx realized: Since the gravity chamber was temporarily unusable, maybe it was time to try another training method.

Ding! "Detected strong desire to grow stronger—triggering [Ultimate Choice]!"

Option 1: Seek out King Kai and learn any of his techniques.Reward: Evil Spirit Bomb.

Option 2: Seek out Master Roshi and learn any of his martial arts.Reward:Instant Kamehameha.

Option 3: Seek out Kami and learn divine techniques.Reward:Gigantification.

"Huh?"Lynx blinked in surprise.

Given his current Martial Genius (Beginner) talent, techniques weren't really the most valuable reward for him anymore.

But then he realized—these weren't ordinary skills. They were likely moves he wouldn't be able to learn on his own, even with time.

Option 2 was easy to understand—it referred to a technique Son Goku developed by combining Instant Transmission with the Kamehameha, much later in the original timeline.

Option 3 granted a Namekian racial ability, not a normal move—just like regeneration, it was likely something Lynx couldn't gain through normal means.

But Option 1…

"System, what exactly is the Evil Spirit Bomb?"

Ding! "Standard Spirit Bomb borrows a small portion of energy from living beings. Evil Spirit Bomb forcibly drains all of a target's energy, regardless of consequence. Its destructive power is much higher, but takes longer to charge and leaves behind a lifeless zone."

So that's what it was…

If the standard Spirit Bomb was asking for help, the Evil Spirit Bomb was stealing power, with no regard for life or survival.

Under equal conditions, the Evil variant would be several times more powerful.

And since the Spirit Bomb was one of Goku's strongest finishers, the Evil Spirit Bomb's power was undoubtedly terrifying.

A true trump card.

Lynx was tempted.

But after thinking it through…

The Evil Spirit Bomb still needed time to charge—just like the normal version.Worse, it would kill everyone nearby who contributed energy.

If he used it on Planet Vegeta, his allies might die before the enemy even got hit.

He wasn't trying to become some supervillain.

Learning Master Roshi's techniques sounded much safer.

As for Gigantification—it boosted strength, yes, but had obvious downsides.Like enemies flying straight into your mouth.

"Yeah, no thanks."

"System, I'll go with Option 2!"

Ding! Choice confirmed. Please complete the corresponding task.

With his decision made, Lynx turned to Tights.

"Tights, I'm heading out. I need to meet a martial arts master."

"A master?" Tights looked curious.

"Yeah. His name's Master Roshi—also known as the Turtle Hermit."

"Master Roshi? I know him!Hey, Lynx, can I come too? I want to study martial arts with him!"
