Chapter Thirty-Seven: Gaps in the Story
Isabelle rushed down the staircase, scanning every corner of the house.
She saw and heard no baby babbles. Not hearing any soft giggles coming from the nursery. Her heart began beating faster than any formula 1 contestant.
She spotted Julia walking in from the hallway.
"Where are they?" Isabelle asked quickly.
Julia looked up with a slight wince. "Mr. Reign left about an hour ago. He took the twins to visit his parents."
"What?" Isabelle's voice cracked. "I told him I didn't want them going there."
"I know." Julia nodded gently. "But he said it's just for a few hours. He said he needed to show them to his family personally. I tried to tell him…"
Isabelle pressed a hand against her forehead. 'Why does he do this?'
She turned away. Her stomach started hurting like there was someone inside stabbing it with small needles.
"Mr. Reign was struggling a little, so Miss Violet helped him to get them ready."
