Chapter 2 - Apartment

Seeing that his dragon had no problem, Jack let out a sigh of relief. But thinking about the long time it would need to digest all the excess flesh, Jack felt like crying. However, that thought was immediately pushed to the back of his mind. The stronger his summon, the safer he would feel. The main reason Jack allowed his dragon to eat and digest the excess of the dragonwas because he had received a message stating that it was a welcome gift for him—one that all summoners would be given: a head of a beast, demon, elf, goblin, dragon-human, and many more, according to their summon.

But thinking about the image of the headless dragon, Jack couldn't help but suck in a cold breath of air, because the pressure it emitted was just as strong as that of the half-dead man who had registered him at the gate. The most shocking thing, however, was that the core of the dragon was still present in its head.

It has to be known that the core of a beast or creature contains their will and skills from when they were alive. If any beast or summon digests this core, it can absorb those skills and essence, and even the initial will and powers of that beast or summon. But the rate at which a summon could actually achieve that was quite low.

Pushing all these distracting thoughts to the back of his mind, Jack started to recite some strange words, and the grave divided into two, revealing a staircase that led into darkness. As he inhaled deeply while walking down the staircase leading to an unknown place. is figure slowly got devoured by the darkness, and the grave once again closed, looking like a completely normal grave.

After taking an unknown number of steps, Jack saw a rusty, giant door. On the handle was a "KEEP OUT" sign.

"Did they perhaps make a mistake?" Jack thought as the red light flickered once in a while. Taking a deep breath, Jack grabbed the handle of the already rusting door, which made a rusty and annoying sound as it opened. Jack stepped forward. Once inside, he slowly closed the door behind him.

Looking at the scene before him, Jack's mind went back and forth, because right in front of him were three black doors. After thinking for a while, Jack decided to pick the door on the left. He slowly opened it, letting out a sigh of relief upon seeing that it was just an ordinary room—nothing fancy: a bed, table, chair, and a spiritual candle. It looked like a room from the 1990s.

Closing the door, Jack moved on to the door in the middle, which he opened again, letting out another sigh of relief. It seemed that the terrifying scenarios he had stupidly built up in his imagination never came to be.It was just a bathroom—a tap, bucket, and toilet used for relieving oneself.

"That's weird. Why does everything look so old-fashioned? Is it only my apartment, or is it the same for everyone else?" Jack wondered.

"Seems like I'll have to ask once I'm done checking out the last door."

But for some strange reason, Jack kept getting an uneasy feeling, one that came from the depth of his soul. Standing before the last door, Jack took a deep breath before slowly opening it.

What he saw made his hair stand on end.Inside was a gigantic black dragon, chained by numerous solid black chains, with black liquid dripping from them.At that moment, Jack found it difficult to breathe, as a wild reaction erupted from his beast space.
