Chapter 84 - I Will Evolve (3)

So now the question is, should I find a place to evolve, or should I get out of here first and then evolve…?

"We need to get out of here first. This is that eye's territory—no matter where you hide, it'll find you. If you fall asleep now, we're all as good as dead."

Yeah… If this wasn't a sealed-off space, I could just re-enter it again. But the problem is, I can't go back to the original gate either. Those two Half-Kings are probably still waiting for me there, which makes things even trickier…

"Didn't you say earlier that you met someone who entered this place through a different gate?"

Oh, right!

I totally forgot about that guy.

But I'm not sure if he's still alive… Even so, if there's a chance, I should give it a try.

Let's head back.

I returned to the big tree area, and thankfully, that guy was still lying there unconscious… I did feel a little guilty for leaving him behind, but hey, he probably didn't even notice…

It didn't take long to wake him up, and I began writing on the ground again to communicate.

"The gate I came through… yeah, I still remember!"

Perfect!

"Then lead me there."

"You're really going to help me get out of here?" He instantly jumped up, overjoyed.

Well, something like that. As long as I achieve my goal, it's fine either way.

So I followed him—but it seemed like he didn't actually know the way…

"Didn't you say this place constantly changes? How's he supposed to remember the exact path?" Seina commented.

Oh… yeah…

Why did I suddenly forget something so obvious?

I called him back and had him describe the gate's appearance so I could deduce the route to get there. It didn't take long before we arrived—and luckily, the gate was still functioning.

Let's go.

It wasn't just me—he looked like he could barely contain his excitement too. Once we stepped through the gate, we entered a different space. Though, it was still just another part of a dungeon.

"We finally made it back!"

The guy collapsed to the ground, crying like a baby.

Sigh…

I get it. Surviving a hellish experience like that would bring anyone to tears. You should be proud of yourself.

After a while, he stopped crying and turned to me. Kneeling on one knee in a formal gesture, he said: "Thank you so much. Without you, I never would've made it back. I have nothing to offer you right now, but please tell me your name. One day, I swear I'll repay this favor."

Well… I do feel a little good about doing something nice for once, but I really don't need him to repay me…

Still, he was so sincere. It'd be rude to just brush him off. So I wrote down my name.

"Shiraori."

"Shiraori… I'll remember that name. I hope we can meet again someday."

With that, he left, and I began scouting out the area to make sure it was safe. From my brief inspection, I could tell this dungeon was much smaller—its entire area didn't even compare to a single floor of Elbrinat. So, nothing to worry about.

Time to evolve, then.

Let's see…

I'm currently in the Trinoneda form, and I'm pretty satisfied with it. Especially because it gave me those two Blade Legs, which have helped me a ton. Now I'm getting the "Advanced" title too, which I'm kind of excited about. As for Araneae… I'm not really sure what that is. So I guess I'll stick with what I know.

My consciousness is fading…

Goodbye for now, everyone…

Good morning.

Whoa, I just woke up and already got a skill evolution notice. Though… why does the name sound so lame?

This skill apparently has no further levels, so this must be the final form.

I wonder if everyone else is okay?

"We're all fine. While you were evolving, the other two wills fell asleep as well," Meradis replied.

Good. As long as everyone's alright.

Now then, it's time for the most important part…

Let's check out my stats!
