Chapter 6 - The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From The Tree

Leaning towards George, Kelly held on to him firmly without letting go, "George, please talk to me. What's wrong with you? I'm so sorry for not paying attention. I've been overwhelmed by the situation,"

"I am fine.

You have to worry yourself about me.

It's just my chest. I will pass," George lied.

"I just need a chilled glass of water and I will be fine," George added.

However, his facial expressions didn't correlate with his response. He was struggling to breathe while assuring himself that he is fine.

"And you expect me to believe you? Come on, George. You don't seem good to me. Do you want me to call a doctor?" Kelly suggested. He's been friends with George all his life, and he definitely knows when George is telling the truth.

"Are you two still arguing about this? We don't have luxury of time to waste here. It's obvious that Mr. Cooper needs to see a doctor immediately. Can't you see he's struggling to breathe?" Ciara chipped in after a brief silence. The only time and spoke was the moment she noticed the unusual behavior of George.

"Don't do that.

I insist that I am fine, and it should remain that way. If I needed help from anyone of you, I would definitely ask."

George objected against Ciara's suggestion.

It was starting to get heated between the two of them as no one wants to admit to their flaws.

"I can't take this anymore. I have got to do something. If anything bad happens to you, I won't forgive myself," Ciara finally took the decision to go get help, hence disobeying George's order. She was gone before George had the opportunity to speak, to call her back.

"What kind of daughter do you have? She's so stubborn, just like you," George teased Kelly. His breathing was slowly becoming normal again. Although, it wasn't enough proof that he was getting better either.

"What else can I say?

The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I believe she learned from the best," Kelly bragged, while pointing to himself.

He might not have uttered it, but his actions showed that he was proud of what Ciara. To think Dexter insulted the hell out of Ciara, she still refused to narrow all the hatred towards George.

"Here she comes already," George exclaimed immediately Ciara walked in with the company's security. One would have expected her to show up with a doctor, perhaps a rescue team; considering how she hurriedly ran outside.

"Marcus, what is in heaven's name are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at your duty post? Because that's where you belong," George fumed.

As he yelled at Marcus, he started coughing again. This time, it became worse to take point where he held his chest.

"See what I am talking about? Please come assist me let's get him to the hospital immediately," Ciara commanded. She appears to be in charge more than Kelly, her father.

The way she handled the situation makes George wants to start questioning his approach to parenthood.

Until they drove to the hospital, George won't stop glaring at Ciara in the utmost confusion. He suddenly forgot about his health and considered Ciara to be his top priority.

"Please stay here with my father while I go get the doctor," Ciara urged George the moment they arrived at the reception

"Please I, need to see the doctor. We've got an emergency," Ciara lodged the complaint.

"Once I am back on my feet, we are going to do a DNA test to confirm if Ciara is my biological daughter. The way she looks after me, I can't explain that. She proved what it feels like to have a child who adores you," George wept. It was meant to be one of his silly jokes until he suddenly remembers that Dexter would continue to be his son.

"The doctor would be here shortly. He's currently in the theater room. If you don't mind, I could come find out what the problem is," The nurse in the counter spoke. She offered to help out in the absence of the doctor.

"That's fine.

I've got issues with that. Do come with me," Ciara accepted the nurse's offer to help out as they both rushed back to attend to George, who seemed to be having a hard time adjusting to Earth.

"What's going on?

I got a call from one of the nurses for a case of emergency," a masculine voice spoke. His outfit and charisma showed a bit of hint that he was the doctor.

"Doctor Escobar, thank goodness you are. This man here needs urgent attention. It seems like he is having a heart attack," the Nurse notified doctor Escobar on George's heart challenge.

"Heart attack?

Let's find out about that.

I can't really say anything for now,"

Doctor Escobar said. He was doesn't close to George and did a quick check in his body.

"This doesn't look too good on you," Escobar nodded his head sideways.

"How long have you been having this heart attack?" Escobar asked after completing the check on him.

"Just today." George responded.

"Hold on a second, what happened to me was a heart attack? Damn! I never saw that coming," George facepalms.

"You already got your answer.

Do come with me. But first, I need to speak with a family member to sign the consent form," Doctor Escobar requested.

"A consent form?"

They all asked in unison.

"Yes, the consent form.

That's the only way we can commence treatment immediately. For now, we are going to have to admit you an and also keep an eye on you," he added.

George was lost for words.

He knew the only person that could help him sign the consent form was Dexter, first son.

Hypothetically, Dexter was the reason George suddenly developed a heart attack. It becomes more scary that George recently had an outburst.

Tables turned now George needs Dexter to come sign the form to help him get treatment immediately.

From their recent altercation, it might seem entirely different to convince him to come.
