In the Rain Village leader's chamber, Pain examined the intelligence report brought by his subordinate, muttering, "The Konoha Twelve Blades... where did they come from this time?"
"What's wrong, Pain?" Konan asked, noticing his furrowed brow.
"Nothing," Pain replied casually. "It seems Konoha has formed some new group called the Konoha Twelve Blades, and they're planning an attack on the village."
"Konoha Twelve Blades?" Konan questioned, puzzled.
"Yes. It's likely a combination of the previous Konoha Ten Colors, Sakura who uses Cherry Blossom Release, and that girl with the Ninja Tool Space Technique," Pain murmured. The deduction wasn't difficult; the report specified the number of men and women, and noted that two members possessed Byakugan.
"Oh? What should we do?" Konan asked.
"Our only goal is the Tailed Beasts. Besides, Konoha has already made enemies of every Ninja Village, there's no need for us to get involved. But since they're coming to us, we'll kill them. Take a group of Jonin and Chunin to meet them first," Pain said with calm confidence.
"Understood," Konan replied, her eyes flashing. "I'll intercept them in Four Ridges Valley, their most likely route."
With that, Konan departed to immediately order the village's Jonin and Chunin to intercept the Konoha Twelve Blades.
The Konoha Twelve Blades swiftly leaped into a vast mountain valley. Beyond this point lay the territory of the Rain Village, and further still, Takigakure.
"Stop!" Neji suddenly called out.
"What's wrong, Neji?" Rock Lee asked, puzzled. The others also looked at Neji curiously, except for Hinata, Shino, and Kiba.
"We seem to be surrounded!" Kiba announced.
"Woof! Woof!" Akamaru barked twice in agreement.
"And there are a lot of them!" Kiba added after quieting Akamaru.
Shino pushed up his glasses, saying nothing. Everyone knew this gesture meant enemies were present.
"So many people! All Rain Ninja!" Hinata exclaimed, activating her Byakugan.
"What's going on? Are they after us?" Temari frowned. Being surrounded by a large number of Rain Ninja would undoubtedly delay their mission.
"Ninja of Konoha, we've been waiting for you..." a voice echoed, answering Temari's question.
As the voice faded, countless figures materialized within the valley, all Rain Ninja.
"You think you can destroy our Rain Village with just a handful of you?" A green-haired Jonin stepped forward, his gaze sweeping contemptuously over Temari and her team.
"Heh heh~ So the Konoha Ten Colors are really here..." Aoi Rokusho chuckled loudly, his eyes fixed on Hinata and the others.
"Are you Aoi Rokusho, the Konoha rogue ninja?" Neji suddenly asked, his gaze piercing.
"Neji, who is this guy?" Temari asked, surprised that Neji recognized him.
"He's the Konoha ninja who stole the Thunder God Sword! I saw his name on the rogue ninja list," Neji explained.
"It seems we didn't kill all those Rain Ninja earlier. How else would they know we were planning to raid Rain Village?" Shino interjected.
"Hmm, we were careless," Temari agreed, nodding. "And Kiba! This is all your fault!"
Combining Aoi Rokusho's words with the current situation, the truth became clear.
"Heh heh! Looks like we don't have to make the first move this time. They're coming right to us!" Kiba grinned, still eager to raid Rain Village. The current situation suited him perfectly.
"Thirty-five Jonin," Neji observed, after surveying the Rain Ninja. "Since this is your fault, Kiba, you can take half, seventeen of them. We'll handle the rest!"
"No problem!" Kiba chuckled, then turned to Akamaru. "Right, Akamaru?"
"Woof woof!" Akamaru immediately barked twice in agreement.
Even surrounded by so many Rain Ninja, Temari and her group continued to banter casually, clearly unfazed by the enemy before them.
"Damn you! Who do you think you are?" Aoi Rokusho, the Rain Ninja leader, snarled, drawing a sword hilt. "Come forth, Thunder God Sword!"
Zzzzt!
As Aoi Rokusho channeled his chakra, the Thunder God Sword materialized in its true form.
"Let's go, Akamaru!" Kiba glanced at the Thunder God Sword and turned to his companion. "Beast Mimicry Technique!"
Poof!
Akamaru followed suit, using the Human Mimicry Technique to transform into Kiba's likeness, his four paws firmly planted on the ground.
"Fang Over Fang!"
Undeterred by the overwhelming number of Rain Ninja, Kiba and Akamaru spun upward toward Aoi Rokusho, initiating the fierce battle.
"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!"
"Fire Release: Fire Rain!"
"Earth Release: Earth Splitter Palm!"
"Wind Release: Great Wind Breakthrough!"
"Lightning Release: Lightning Assault!"
Seeing Kiba move, the Rain Ninja, already enraged by Temari and her group's condescension, immediately retaliated. A barrage of ninjutsu erupted, showcasing a dazzling array of abilities. Over a dozen techniques alone targeted Kiba!
"Hinata! You okay?" Temari asked, her expression unwavering as countless ninjutsu hurtled toward them.
"Mm! Leave it to me!" Hinata nodded, the three white tomoe in her eyes beginning to spin.
"Gentle Fist: Taiji Guard!"
Whoosh
A ten-meter-diameter Taiji symbol materialized beneath Hinata's feet, instantly enveloping Temari's shadow clone as well.
As Hinata activated the Taiji Domain, the Rain Ninja's ninjutsu rained down simultaneously. To their astonishment, the techniques didn't explode as expected. Instead, they were drawn into the Taiji Domain's rotation, then redirected back at them with uncontrollable force!
"Damn it! Scatter!" some Chunin shouted in alarm.
"Earth Release: Earth Wall Technique!" A Rain Ninja Jonin, seeing a fire dragon approaching, immediately stepped in front of the others and summoned an earth wall to block it. Other Jonin intercepted the remaining attacks, but they no longer dared underestimate their opponents. How could a single person deflect their ninjutsu and redirect it back at them?
"Ah...!" A bloodcurdling scream pierced the air. All the Rain Ninja turned to see their Jonin, Aoi Rokusho, impaled through the body by Kiba's fangs, the Thunder God Sword falling from his grasp.
Kiba snatched the Thunder God Sword. The white bone armor that had covered his body slowly retracted into his flesh. All the ninjutsu attacks against him had been blocked by Kiba using Kimimaro's shadow ability.
"Is that all you've got?" Kiba sneered, his gaze sweeping over the Rain Ninja. He grinned cruelly at Akamaru, who remained unscathed. "Akamaru! Let's go!"
Clang, clang!
Kiba casually deflected two kunai, immediately realizing three Rain Ninja, clearly of Jonin caliber, had intercepted him. A quick glance revealed Temari and the others were similarly entangled with three or four Jonin-level Rain Ninja each.
"Cherry Blossom Release: Cherry Blossom Dance!" Sakura dodged a Jonin's attack and immediately countered, scattering a shower of cherry blossoms across the Rain Ninja ranks.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The quick-witted Chunin dodged swiftly, but several slower Rain Ninja were instantly blasted into bloody fragments.
"Damn it! Retreat now!" A Jonin immediately recognized the battle was beyond the capabilities of ordinary Chunin and barked orders at them.
As the Jonin spoke, all Rain Ninja except for a few Chunin with special abilities retreated. Not a single Genin had been sent to the battlefield.
"Too late..." Shino, who was being held back by four Rain Ninja Jonin, suddenly muttered, his words puzzling his opponents.
A swarm of insects erupted from the valley above, surging down like a tidal wave toward the Chunin attempting to scale the cliffs.
Ah... Screams echoed through the valley as the Rain Ninja Chunin without special abilities were immediately engulfed by Shino's Insect Sphere, perishing in the insect sea.
"Ah... you bastard!" The Jonin roared in fury, unleashing their full power and bombarding Temari and her group with relentless attacks, temporarily pinning them down.
"Ninja Art - Summoning Technique!"
Bang! Bang!
Jonin and Chunin, skilled in summoning techniques, immediately summoned their respective ninja beasts.
"Open Gate - Open... Seventh Gate - Open!"
Rock Lee could no longer restrain himself. He instantly opened all seven gates, his body radiating red Chakra that distorted the air around him.
"Konoha Whirlwind!"
Whoosh!
Rock Lee's figure vanished instantly, kicking a Jonin into the air. His form flickered around the airborne Jonin, each strike punctuated by a resounding thud!
The remaining two Jonin surrounding Rock Lee watched in horror as he reappeared above their companion, delivering a final, devastating kick that sent the Jonin crashing down.
Bang! The impact cratered the ground, and the Jonin lay struggling in the pit before collapsing into a pool of blood.
"Heh! Getting serious now, are we?" Temari chuckled, noticing Rock Lee's activation of the Seven Gates. She bit her index finger, rapidly forming hand seals.
"Ninja Art - Summoning Technique!"
Poof! Shahuang's massive form materialized in a cloud of smoke. Spotting the summoned beasts of the Rain Ninja, it roared with excitement and charged toward them.
With Shahuang's arrival, Hinata and the others swiftly circulated their Chakra, their hands moving in unison to form seals.
"Cherry Blossom Release - Cherry Blossom Annihilation!"
"Wind-Sand Release - Sandstorm!"
"Wind Release - Whirling Air Blast!"
"Gentle Fist - Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms!"
Temari and the others unleashed their signature techniques, filling the valley with a relentless barrage of explosions.
The thunderous booms echoed endlessly. Before long, the once-vast valley was crushed beneath the collapsing cliffs. Only when the smoke cleared did Temari and her companions reappear.
The valley floor was littered with the corpses of Rain Ninja, their bodies strewn haphazardly across the ground. The fierce explosions had decimated their ranks, leaving only a handful who had been shielded by Konan's sudden Paper Release.
At the critical moment, Konan, who had been lurking in the shadows, couldn't resist intervening. She hadn't anticipated Temari and her group's overwhelming power, and the sudden onslaught caught her completely off guard, allowing her to save only a few Rain Ninja.
"Konan-sama!" The surviving Rain Ninja, huddled behind a massive paper shield, exclaimed excitedly as Konan appeared before them.
Retracting her Paper Release, Konan glared coldly at the Konoha Twelve Blades, who stood unscathed across the battlefield. Even after the intense battle, Temari and her group were only slightly winded.
"Akatsuki?" Temari murmured, her eyes narrowing as she recognized Konan's red-clouded black robe. She immediately tensed, her guard rising.
High above, the five black tomoe in Shikamaru's eyes spun rapidly, granting him a clear view of Konan below. Her long purple hair framed a face of peerless beauty, and though her figure was concealed beneath the Akatsuki's red-clouded black robe, the graceful curves hinted at a figure that was undoubtedly exquisite.
"Tsk tsk! No wonder she's called Angel Konan, she's truly stunning," Shikamaru thought lecherously as he watched from above. "I wonder if she's a genuine 'Angel' woman?"
Shikamaru had been observing from his vantage point for some time. To him, Temari and the others were clearly bullying the Rain Ninja. He had lingered specifically to guard against Pain, the Rain Ninja leader, intervening. Instead, Konan had appeared!
Whatever Konan said to Temari and the others, Shikamaru immediately saw Temari and Konan clash...
