Freya's POV
Ever since learning Mack Ben would be arriving, these past few days have crawled by like torture.
What caught me completely off guard was Katie Harriet showing up before Mack even landed.
Walking into the hotel lobby and spotting her there, I wondered if exhaustion was making me hallucinate.
"Darling, Happy New Year!" Katie Harriet's infectious laughter filled the space. "What's with that look? Don't tell me you forgot about me already. Your big show is tomorrow, right? I made it just in time."
Her familiar, over-the-top energy snapped me back to reality. My best friend had actually flown here.
I rushed toward her, playfully swatting her arm, my eyes wide with shock.
"You couldn't give me a heads up? It's New Year's - shouldn't you be home with your family?" After the mock scolding, I wrapped her in the tightest hug, practically bouncing with excitement.
