Belinda nodded eagerly, though confusion flickered across her face, and immediately rushed off to handle the task.
Right before closing time, she handed me contact information for several debt collection agency managers.
I dialed each number systematically. After rounds of careful negotiation, I selected the most ruthless company from the bunch.
My request was straightforward: collect a debt from Cecilia Felix totaling eighty thousand dollars.
Whatever methods they chose, as long as they recovered the money, I would pay double the debt amount as their fee.
Cecilia Felix would never produce that kind of cash. When the collection agency cornered her, her only escape route would be crawling back to work.
And if the agency failed to collect, I would simply pay their standard service charge.
