Mack Ben's words haunted me through the endless hours of the night.
"This is what genuine attraction looks like, Freya. This is why I'm willing to wait for you and chase after you. Don't tell me you don't feel the same way because I can see it written all over your face. You're falling for me just as hard."
I couldn't recall how he had driven me home or what we had said during our goodbye. My entire being was consumed by the overwhelming rush of emotions his confession had unleashed, leaving my mind completely scrambled.
Since we had laid our feelings bare, Mack Ben became bolder in his pursuit. He texted and called whenever his schedule allowed, checking if I had eaten properly and asking about Grandma's recovery progress. Sometimes he shared updates about his work, mentioning successful business deals or research breakthroughs that had gone well.
