The following morning, I marched straight into Waylon Colby's corporate headquarters, determined to confront him face to face.
The moment Waylon Colby spotted me entering his office, his expression hardened into a mask of contempt. His lips curled into a mocking sneer as he spoke. "What brings you crawling back here? Haven't you already torn this family apart enough?"
I settled into the chair across from his imposing mahogany desk, cutting straight through any pleasantries. "I need cash immediately. Either return what rightfully belongs to me from my mother's inheritance, or write me a check."
Waylon Colby's pen froze mid-signature. His head snapped up, and his gaze bore into me with unmistakable hostility. "Freya Colby, have you completely lost your sanity? I already handed over half of your mother's stock portfolio. What more could you possibly demand?"
