Freya's POV
Cecilia Felix's face went pale, her mouth snapping shut like a trap. The silence stretched between us, thick with unspoken accusations.
Neil Colby shifted impatiently beside the car, his breath forming small clouds in the frigid air. "Jesus, it's freezing out here. Can we please just get moving? Standing around chatting on the street like this is ridiculous."
Without waiting for an answer, he lunged forward and grabbed my car door handle, yanking hard. The door remained stubbornly locked.
"Freya, unlock the damn door!" His voice had lost all pretense of politeness. Gone was any attempt to call me his sister.
A slow smile spread across my face. "What's the rush? Let's take our time."
Neil Colby stared at me like I'd lost my mind, then whipped around to look at his parents with confusion written all over his features.
