Chapter 466: Black Zetsu: Lord Madara, Please Let Me Speak From the Heart
"My Spirit stat is 150. Tonight, I'll head to the capital of the Land of Frost and put the feudal lord under genjutsu."
Uchiha Obito laid out his plan.
It was the same strategy Madara had originally proposed: leverage the power of the Sharingan to control the leaders of ninja villages or nations, then enact policies that weakened military defenses and stirred internal strife.
Incite war. Distract the great nations. Seize wealth in the chaos.
"Fine."
Madara couldn't be bothered to argue with this fool.
Was the current shinobi world really the same as the one he once ruled?
Forget whether the palace of the Land of Frost had sensory barriers or genjutsu wards—if he actually managed to control the daimyo, the very first thing to do should be what Orochimaru did: raise armies and hoard resources.
Stirring war?
That made sense back when resources were scarce. But the Samsara Game was a treasure trove of renewable resources. Instead of fighting over scraps in reality, Obito was wasting time.
Idiot.
Madara cursed him again internally.
Was this fool really a member of the Uchiha? Maybe he got swapped with a Senju baby at birth.
Still, for what he planned next, Madara needed Obito gone. So he didn't object to the idea.
Obito felt reassured.
After all, they shared the same goal: the Eye of the Moon Plan.
Since Madara had been the one to first propose it, Obito never doubted his intentions.
Even after falling into darkness, Obito maintained his simple mindset and never considered the possibility that Madara had abandoned the plan—and him.
While Obito made his way to the Frost capital,
Madara swiftly crossed the border and ran toward the Land of Grass.
Eventually,
A shadow as black as ink oozed from a tree trunk. Its muffled voice snarled, "Damn you, Uchiha Madara. You really intend to abandon the Eye of the Moon Plan? Then die!"
The Eye of the Moon Plan appeared to be a path to peace.
But in truth, it was a ritual Black Zetsu had hidden within the altered Sage of Six Paths' stone tablet—a method for reviving Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
As long as the plan succeeded and someone became the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki, they could cast the Rinne Sharingan's genjutsu on the moon. Then the progenitor of chakra—the one who first planted the God Tree—would return.
Black Zetsu had lurked for countless ages.
Manipulating, murdering, coercing, tempting—he had influenced too many lives to count. The reincarnations of Asura and Indra had all been part of his ploy to bring his "mother" back to life.
Everything had been going perfectly.
Until the Samsara Game appeared.
Its sudden arrival shattered the thousand-year foundation he had laid and delayed Kaguya's revival indefinitely.
Obito, that useless piece of trash, was completely unreliable—his head filled with fantasies of Rin and perverted delusions. He could never carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan.
So Black Zetsu manipulated him into reviving Uchiha Madara.
But to his horror, the newly revived Madara had plans of his own. He refused to continue the Eye of the Moon Plan.
And had completely fooled Obito.
Fine. First I'll kill Madara… then my last hope lies with Uchiha Sasuke.
Of the remaining Uchiha, Sasuke was the only one who still seemed remotely sane.
Itachi wasn't a fool like Obito—but he was worse. A fanatic brainwashed by the Will of Fire.
"Kukuku… Madara, you leave me no choice!"
…
Night fell.
Madara sprinted nonstop, expelling chakra wildly to accelerate. At last, he arrived at a hidden underground vault in the Land of Grass.
Thick stone walls surrounded a central chamber, filled with precious natural resources.
No matter the era, these would fetch sky-high prices.
"I knew Obito might fail, so I didn't hand over everything. I hid the rest here, just in case."
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Especially not when the basket is Obito.
Madara had always been cautious about his resurrection. Fortunately, this hidden treasure trove would now serve as his upgrade fund.
[Submit resources to receive 500,000 reward points?]
"Yes."
Of course he would say yes. In terms of assets accumulated before death, Madara's stash rivaled the entire wealth of Konoha over several years.
Granted, this was pre-Samsara Konoha.
Now, with Tsunade, Naruto, Sasuke, and countless elite players, Konoha earned close to a million reward points every month.
Clan members earned small trickles of points with every monster they hunted, which went into the clan's communal pool.
But that pool was used to fund clan facilities, skill research, and infrastructure.
Madara's 500,000 reward points? All his.
"Buy [Tier 2 Skill Enhancement Scroll]."
He quickly navigated the shop and selected the scroll.
This item had been added in the new season to help players grow faster. It was reasonably priced.
The only requirement? The skill had to be Tier 1 Lv. Max to upgrade it.
That way, talented players could grow even faster.
"Susanoo, become stronger."
"Fire Release is also maxed. Enhance to Tier 2."
"And my Rinnegan… wait, I need to buy it again?"
He finally remembered—he was an Edo Tensei body, and Obito had long since handed the Rinnegan over to Nagato.
"Fine. These will do for now. Time to hunt monsters and earn enough to buy a proper armor set."
Nawaki's Forest Mother armor gave him impressive stat boosts and special effects.
Without gear, Nawaki's base stats weren't much higher than a dozen points.
But someone like Madara, who had maxed-out base stats at Tier 1, would become a monster if paired with purple-tier armor.
Just then,
The stone wall rippled like water—and a black face emerged.
Madara frowned. "Black Zetsu, what are you doing here?"
He was Madara's shadow, a creation born of Yin-Yang Release—completely obedient.
So Madara wasn't alarmed by his presence.
Black Zetsu put on a panicked act. "Lord Madara! Obito may have sensed that we want to abandon the Eye of the Moon Plan. He didn't go to the Frost capital. He's secretly following you."
"To keep the secret safe, I came ahead to warn you!"
As he spoke,
The shadowy figure crawled forward, showing no hostility—just like a loyal pet reuniting with its master. It climbed up Madara's shoulder.
"I see. Obito's just a fool—he couldn't possibly—"
Madara didn't finish his sentence.
Black Zetsu interrupted, "Obito is a fool, yes. But you—Madara, you think you're so clever?"
"From start to finish, you've been nothing more than my pawn!"
"Everything I've done was to revive—"
His arrogant rant was suddenly cut short—like a chicken being throttled mid-squawk.
Because—
His attack didn't work.
The moment his hand went to pierce Madara's heart, it hit something.
A strange skeletal barrier from Susanoo had blocked it.
Impossible.
His signature heart-stabbing move should have gone right through. Not even Susanoo should have blocked it.
Technically speaking,
Ninja techniques and elemental jutsu were classified as physical attacks—fire and water were just natural elements.
But Black Zetsu was different. He was a pure Yin-Yang Release being—his moves were considered energy attacks under Samsara Game rules.
Susanoo had sky-high physical defense—but poor energy resistance.
That's why he'd dared to strike.
And yet...
His five fingers snapped like twigs against the Susanoo barrier.
His expression shifted from shock to embarrassment to panic.
"L-Lord Madara… I can explain!"
