Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Sasuke’s Dance Begins

Chapter 83: Sasuke's Dance Begins

As expected.

They couldn't hold back any longer.

Their eagerness to kill him only confirmed how forbidden the research data he had uncovered truly was—the consequences of its exposure were something they couldn't afford.

Sasuke narrowed his eyes.

A crimson glow flared within his gaze, and the black tomoe of his Sharingan spun rapidly, granting him clarity to track every enemy movement.

The five Root shinobi didn't dare approach recklessly. Sasuke Uchiha had already demonstrated power that demanded their full caution.

Whoosh!

With practiced coordination, they reached into their ninja pouches—countless shuriken flew out in an instant.

Clang!

Sasuke's sword swung in a blur, forming an impenetrable defense. Shuriken clashed with steel, sparking bright flashes that lit up his cold, unflinching face.

Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere.

The Root ninja at the center of the formation formed hand seals, chakra swelling in his throat until his cheeks ballooned.

One after another, piercing wind bullets blasted out.

This ninja was experienced and clearly understood when to use jutsu.

They blocked the lab entrance—using a penetrating Wind Style jutsu from outside the narrow corridor ensured Sasuke had little room to evade.

But—

Sasuke merely lowered his stance slightly as black flames wrapped around him, solidifying into dark armor that even covered his face.

[Cursefire Armor (Green) Lv.5]: Summons black flame armor impervious to blades. +30 defense. Deals 5 fire damage per second to enemies within 2 meters.

The wind bullets struck the armor—and vanished without a sound.

"What?!"

The surrounding Root ninja's eyes widened.

Vacuum Sphere was Lord Danzo's signature jutsu. Its wind chakra could pierce solid steel armor. And yet this strange defensive jutsu had nullified it completely?

Water Style: Exploding Water Colliding Wave!

Another Root ninja opened his mouth and unleashed a massive torrent of chakra-infused water, attempting to flood the entire lab.

Water beats fire.

He refused to believe Uchiha Sasuke's jutsu could withstand elemental disadvantage.

The data clearly stated Sasuke was just a genin who hadn't even been out of the Academy for two years. Even with the Reincarnation Game's support, could he possibly withstand a squad of Root elites?

In moments, the water surged through the narrow corridor, turning the underground lab into a submerged chamber.

Nearby, one of the ninja drew a blade, slicing down at the rocky exit with chakra-coated steel.

Boom.

The entrance collapsed completely, sealing the tunnel shut with stone.

"Is he dead?"

The Root shinobi exchanged glances. Buried underground like this, anyone who wasn't an Iwagakure Earth Release expert would suffocate—especially a Fire Release specialist like Sasuke.

It was well known that the Uchiha specialized in fire jutsu. They didn't possess Earth Release secrets like Iwa-nin did.

"What a shame. If we could've captured him alive, Lord Danzo would've had a fresh pair of Sharingan."

The Root agents stood silently, waiting. Once they confirmed Sasuke was dead, they would clean up the area and destroy all evidence of the lab and its human experiments.

But then—

Boom. Boom. Boom.

Suddenly, black flame exploded upward from underground. Sasuke burst forth, encased in dark armor, sword in both hands, unleashing a blazing slash of cursed flame.

"Ahhh! My hand!"

One Root ninja failed to dodge and had his wrist severed by the cursed blade. The black flames surged from the wound, spreading rapidly.

Without hesitation, a nearby comrade drew a kunai and hacked off the burning arm before the flames could consume more.

The emotionless teammate's eyes flickered with a trace of pity.

Losing the right hand meant no more hand seals. He was now a broken tool—useless in Danzo's eyes.

"How is he not injured at all?"

The water-style user could hardly believe it.

Sasuke, who had been buried alive, now emerged without a scratch—perfectly fine.

"Fools."

Sasuke's voice was calm, but his lips curled in a faint smirk.

According to the Reincarnation Game's stat system:

A genin's average four primary stats hovered around 10.

Chunin: around 20.

These Root members, by feel, were averaging around 30 points—early jonin-level.

But Sasuke?

Each level-up gave him 2 free attribute points. As a Cursed Swordmaster, he gained an additional 2 Strength, 3 Agility, and 3 Spirit with every level.

Not only did these stats strengthen his in-game body—they could also be transferred to his real body!

Of course, converting stats into real-world physicality required a special item—[Reality Scroll].

Without it, only 10% of game stats would reflect in reality.

With the scroll, he could convert 1 stat point into a real attribute point, giving full effect to his body in reality.

The downside?

Each scroll cost a minimum of 200 reward points and could only convert a single point.

The stronger your body became, the more expensive the next scroll.

Most of Sasuke's reward points from hunting corrupted monsters had gone into buying Reality Scrolls.

But the results were undeniable.

Even though his body hadn't finished developing, Sasuke had already reached jonin strength—

and not the kind with obvious weaknesses.

Most shinobi were specialized. According to the game's stat system, most jonin had only one stat over 30; the rest lagged far behind.

Having two stats over 30 made you a top-tier jonin.

Sasuke had three stats over 30.

These Root shinobi, though numerous, didn't even register as a threat in his eyes.

Especially not with his equipment bonuses.

"Five minutes. I'll end this."

Sasuke said coolly. Then he shot forward—gone in a blink.

Clang!

Metal collided, sparks burst forth, igniting black flame particles in the air.

The Root shinobi who had collapsed the entrance now raised his sword with trembling arms, barely catching Sasuke's strike.

Chakra coated his blade, sharpening it like a wind blade.

Normally, it would slice through any metal.

But Sasuke's sword gleamed coldly—

his opponent's blade was already chipped and cracking.

"This was forged in the Land of Iron by master smiths, at great cost… and it's…"

The Root ninja could barely keep up, his arms buckling.

Sasuke's sword pushed his down, metal groaning, biting into his shoulder. The pressure felt like it would crush his bones.

Just a few more seconds…

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a teammate finish a hand seal.

Secret Technique: Shadow Imitation Jutsu.

A Root member who had been holding back now released his technique. A dark shadow shot from his feet, racing under the moonlight toward Sasuke.

The shadow reached Sasuke's foot—

Success!
