Chapter 295: Obito Flips His Lid
"Izumi, someone is coming straight for us!"
Further away from the main battlefield, Kojirō stood upon Uchiha Izumi's shoulder, watching the distant combat from afar. It knew Uchiha Ikeizumi exceptionally well and knew he currently had the situation entirely well in hand, so it wasn't worried about his safety at all.
However, as Kojirō's ears perked up, it keenly detected a wave of malice descending upon itself and Izumi.
"Is it another member of Akatsuki?"
Uchiha Izumi's gaze also fell onto the Akatsuki side of the battlefield. Toward that woman who could turn into paper and scatter with the wind at any time or place, Izumi felt quite a bit of pressure. She still possessed a great deal of self-awareness, knowing that if she were to face Konan entirely alone, there was a very high probability she would be no match for her.
"No—"
Before Kojirō could finish its sentence, it abruptly expanded in the very next instant.
The colossal ninja cat shielded Uchiha Izumi behind its back, clawing viciously toward an arm stretching out from the void.
"Uchiha Obito!"
The fur all over Kojirō's body puffed out completely. It had learned a few pieces of intelligence regarding Uchiha Obito from Uchiha Ikeizumi, knowing that the opponent's Mangekyō Sharingan was a specialized space-time dōjutsu.
"It actually blocked it?"
Obito's body emerged from the swirl. Looking at this colossal ninja cat before his eyes, he could not help but furrow his brows. Intelligence on Uchiha Ikeizumi was no longer much of a massive secret across the entire ninja world, but as Uchiha Ikeizumi's ninja beast, intelligence regarding Kojirō was a complete blank slate to Obito.
At the very least, he wouldn't have expected that a mere ninja cat could actually block his own sneak attack.
"I blocked your attack; did you ever block Kakashi in the past?"
Information regarding Uchiha Obito flashed through Kojirō's mind. Recalling Ikeizumi mentioning that during the Third Shinobi World War, Obito had helplessly watched the girl he loved get killed by Kakashi, it could not resist the urge to provoke Obito.

"He actually dares to show his face? And he went to attack Izumi and Kojirō?"
Molten rock actually began to boil and surge atop Uchiha Ikeizumi's Susanoo. The three summoning beasts that had been harassing Uchiha Ikeizumi were all thoroughly boiled and cooked within a short duration. Meanwhile, the Naraka Path, which originally served the role of resurrection, was engulfed by the magma before it could even formulate a reaction.
The sound of explosion boomed from beneath the Naraka Path. In an instant, the surging magma blasted apart and melted the Naraka Path's body, leaving only the black receivers—products of Yin-Yang Release—falling in place.
Aside from the Naraka Path being the first to suffer a catastrophic detonation, the second to blow apart was the Animal Path. Just like the Naraka Path, the Animal Path had barely formulated a reaction before the terrifying magma swept through everything. As for the Human Path and Preta Path, there was naturally no reason for them to be spared; only the mechanically modified Asura Path had not yet been written off.
As for the Deva Path Pain, he was already levitating in midair, which allowed him to evade the impact of the magma. Even though the magma surged like a volcanic eruption, it was repelled by him before it could even close in on the Deva Path Pain's body.

As an old man several decades old and nearing a century in age, Kakuzu considered himself to be well-traveled and knowledgeable. He had even seen Senju Hashirama, and had likewise caught a few distant glimpses of Uchiha Madara. But even if it were Uchiha Madara, he likely could not achieve what Uchiha Ikeizumi was doing—combining two Kekkei Genkai for usage.
Add to that the fact that Kakuzu himself was a master skilled in composite ninjutsu; he understood the power of composite ninjutsu better than anyone. Yet Kakuzu had never imagined that it wasn't just ninjutsu that could be used in a composite fashion—even Kekkei Genkai could be combined and used together!
