New World, G-5 Base

A massive Marine-issued warship was docked at the harbour. On its deck, about a thousand Marine soldiers were lined up in neat formation, led by a smiling Rear Admiral Tokikake.

Atlas stood at the harbour, looking at the "ever-dashing" Tokikake, and greeted him with a smile.

Today, Vice Admiral Tsuru had assigned Atlas to welcome the reinforcements dispatched from Headquarters.

Gion was supposed to be there too, but when she heard Tokikake was coming, she quickly made an excuse and slipped away, leaving poor Atlas to handle it alone.

"Yo! Atlas, where is Miss Gion? I was planning on making my 99th confession to her," Tokikake said, greatly disappointed to see only Atlas at the harbour.

"Ah, Rear Admiral Gion had something urgent come up, so it's just me," Atlas explained weakly.

He couldn't very well say that Gion had made an excuse to avoid him.

"By the way, didn't Vice Admiral Tsuru say Vice Admiral Aokiji was also coming to the New World as support? Where is he?"

"Vice Admiral Aokiji, he…" Just as Tokikake was about to explain, a lazy voice drifted over from a distance.

"Arara… My apologies, little Kanos. I've kept you waiting."

Atlas followed the sound and saw Aokiji, wearing his Marine "Justice" coat over a white suit and a dark blue shirt, slowly approaching by riding his bicycle on the surface of the sea.

A narrow path of ice formed continuously under the bicycle's tires as it rolled forward.

With his eyes half-closed, Aokiji kept yawning as if he could fall asleep at any moment, exuding an air of pure laziness.

"Vice Admiral Aokiji!" Atlas stood at attention and gave a perfect military salute.

Aokiji nonchalantly put away his bicycle, handing it to a nearby Marine soldier. He gave Atlas a wave and then headed straight for Garp's office.

"Arara, little Kanos, let's go. The winds are starting to pick up."

--Wano Country, Onigashima--

"Lord Kaido, should the Beasts Pirates get involved in the upcoming war in the New World and make things even more chaotic?" asked King the Conflagration, a powerfully built man clad head-to-toe in black leather.

Flames erupted from the massive wings on his back, and his only visible eyes were fixed on Kaido, who was chugging sake.

"No need. We'll watch the fire from the other side of the river," Kaido boomed, draining his sake gourd.

"But I'm going to go stir things up a bit. Only a top-tier battle like this can get me excited anymore! Hahahaha!"

--Aboard the Moby Dick--

"Pops, the Marines' movements have been getting more frequent. A large number of troops are gathering in the New World. Are they preparing to come after us with everything they've got?"

Marco asked, a worried look on his face. He wanted to continue living like this with his Pops.

"Marco, don't worry so much," Vista analysed from the side. "If the Marines try to clean out the New World, the World Government will be the first to disagree."

"The other pirates in the New World are no pushovers. If the Marines try to bite off that bone, they'll likely shatter their teeth!"

He knew the Five Elders pursued only one thing: balance. To them, the world was a chessboard, and they had to ensure the balance of power was never broken.

"Gurararara! Marco, Vista is right," Whitebeard laughed. "Don't worry too much. After all, I am… Whitebeard!"

--New World, G-5 Base, Strategy Office--

The small office was currently packed with all of G-5's top brass.

Atlas was among them; although his rank was only Commodore, his strength had earned the recognition of everyone present.

Vice Admiral Tsuru sat ramrod straight behind her desk. To her left and right were the two Admiral candidates, Akainu and Aokiji.

Garp stood next to her, loudly crunching on donuts and spraying crumbs all over the desk.

"Alright, now that everyone is here," Tsuru began, automatically tuning out Garp's chewing, "I will explain the personnel assignments for the coming battle."

"Garp, Sakazuki, Tokikake, and Gion, you will lead a portion of the Marine forces to engage the Whitebeard Pirates."

"You should also be wary of Kaido causing trouble. Your combined strength should be sufficient."

"Kuzan, you and Atlas will lead a force to the Totto Land archipelago. According to intelligence from the CP units, the Pirate Alliance is targeting the Big Mom Pirates."

"If Big Mom's side starts to lose, you will take the opportunity to crush them and then strike the Pirate Alliance."

"Of course, it's more likely that the Pirate Alliance will be the ones to lose. Totto Land's intelligence network should not be underestimated."

"In that case, crush the so-called Pirate Alliance directly."

"As for Kaido's Beasts Pirates, they probably won't make a move. Kaido understands the strategic importance of Wano Country."

"So, we don't need to assign a force there, but I will arrange for surveillance."

"Arara~ Don't worry, Vice Admiral Tsuru," Aokiji shed his lazy demeanour and said with full confidence. "Not a single pirate from that alliance will escape."

At this moment, throughout the New World, pirates big and small sensed something unusual in the air.

Behind the scenes, countless crews were rubbing their hands in glee, eager to get a piece of the pie in the upcoming war that would reshape the world!

The winds of a new era were about to blow.

--January, Year 1508 of the Sea Circle Calendar. Totto Land archipelago---

The massive Queen Mama Chanter was moored quietly on the sea, surrounded by its fleet.

Aboard the Chanter, Big Mom was not weak like an ordinary woman, despite having just given birth to her 75th son.

She continuously rolled up the tablecloth and poured the sweets onto it, putting them into her mouth while servants frantically replaced the spread.

"Mama, the Sea Slugs are transmitting images. The Pirate Alliance's fleet has invaded our Totto Land waters," Perospero reported.

He didn't dare disturb Big Mom while she was eating, but the situation was too urgent.

"Hmm? What did you say?" Big Mom instantly stopped eating, her bloodshot eyes locking onto Perospero. Thick, corrosive saliva dripped from her enormous mouth.

"Ma… Mama," Perospero swallowed hard, cold sweat beading on his forehead. "The so-called Pirate Alliance has invaded Totto Land. It seems… they're targeting us."

"Mamamama! Those worthless fools dare to set foot in my Totto Land? They underestimate me!"

Big Mom roared, her voice like a thunderclap. "Perospero, go with Katakuri and assemble the fleet! I'll crush them myself! Do they think I'm… a soft persimmon?"

"But… Mama, your body—you just gave birth. I'm afraid you won't—" Perospero began, his voice filled with worry.

Big Mom was the heart of their crew; without her, they couldn't be considered an Emperor's crew at all.

"Hmm? Are you telling me what to do?" Her expression darkened, and an overwhelming aura surged from her, suffocating the air between them.

"Perospero, you are nothing but my son. Know your place!"

Terrified, sweat soaking his back, Perospero quickly nodded in submission.

On the outskirts of the Totto Land archipelago, four distinctive ships sailed into the fantastical seas.

Their ferocious figureheads clashed against the dreamlike scenery.

The four crews of the Pirate Alliance, leading their respective subordinates, had breached the Big Mom Pirates' territory, issuing an unannounced challenge to an Emperor who ruled over the New World.

The faces of the four captains carried a mix of excitement and grim determination, as though they were on the brink of becoming the new rulers of the seas, with even the Pirate King's throne within reach.

"Mamamamama! You four small fries… are you treating me like a soft persimmon? How utterly unpleasant!"

Before their moment of triumph could last, Big Mom arrived, standing tall on the prow of the Queen Mama Chanter.

Napoleon, her massive sword, rested in her grip, while Zeus and Prometheus—her two great Homies of lightning and fire—hovered at her sides.

"Heeheehee! Old hag, your era is over! No ship in this new age can carry you. It's time to step aside and make room for us!" Rackham sneered, stepping forward without fear.

"Mama! Such ignorant fools! Katakuri, bring me that man's head!"

"Yes, Mama!"

"Heeheeheehee! Yermak, you and Francis hold off Big Mom—I'll handle Katakuri!" Rackham ordered confidently.

A user of the Paramecia-type Blood-Blood Fruit, he could manipulate the blood in his enemies' bodies and accelerate his blood flow to amplify his power.

Having already Awakened his Devil Fruit, Rackham had no fear of Katakuri.

Damn it! Yermak and Francis cursed inwardly. They knew Katakuri and Big Mom were on entirely different levels. Rackham had just thrown them into the lion's den, leaving them no choice but to face the music.

"Mamamama! To think I'd be so underestimated!" Big Mom erupted in furious laughter.

A strange, invisible shockwave burst from her, sweeping across the Pirate Alliance fleet—

Conqueror's Haki!

Time seemed to stop on the waves. Many of the pirates who had been shouting moments ago went silent, their eyes glazing over as their bodies collapsed like puppets with cut strings.

"Con… Conqueror's Haki! My god! What kind of monster is this?"

"We can't fight something like that! Captain, retreat! This is suicide!"

Those who barely managed to stay conscious trembled like leaves in a storm, their courage drained to nothing.

"What are you panicking for? She's just an old woman! It's only Conqueror's Haki!" the captains barked, though their hearts pounded in fear.

Three of the four captains—excluding Francis—possessed Conqueror's Haki themselves, but compared to Big Mom's, theirs was nothing more than a flickering candle before a hurricane.

"Everyone, attack! Blood Scythe!"

Rackham could wait no longer. He unleashed his Devil Fruit ability and charged at Katakuri.

The other three captains leapt into battle as well, knowing that if they hesitated, their side would be wiped out before the fight truly began.

"Mamamama! Zeus! Thunder!"

"Yes, Mama!"

Zeus's body turned pitch-black, a vicious grin spreading across its face before it unleashed a colossal pillar of lightning from the heavens.

"Thundercloud!"

Yermak, a Logia-type Cloud-Cloud Fruit user, met Zeus's lightning head-on, neutralising its strike.

They knew Rackham's orders weren't entirely suicide—Charlotte Linlin's three great Homies were notorious, and Zeus was one of her strongest weapons.

Francis, meanwhile, was a Zoan-type Bear-Bear Fruit user, Ancient Model: Brutal Bear. With durability second to none and his Awakening nearing completion, he and Yermak were the best possible choice to stall Big Mom herself.
