Gods, everyone has heard of them. From religion to the stories of the Greeks, there are numerous accounts of what people say are gods. But not everyone believes in them. Those people are known as "Atheists". These people think that the existence of a deity is nothing more than a story used for people to explain what they don't understand.
Imagine how the atheists must have felt when the voice of God said 11 simple words. I thought I was just hearing things. One of my friends must have been pulling a prank on me with a hidden speaker as we played DND. "Very funny, guys. Which one of you planned out this prank?"
When I looked back at my friends, though, their eyes were filled with shock, and then the voice said, [This is no prank, humans.] I gasped in shock and fell over in shock that the voice responded. [You all must be terribly confused, which is to be expected. But all I want from you is to try and take my place] I couldn't believe what I just heard, but before I could even process it, I passed out.
When I woke up, all I saw was complete white and a computer ahead of me. Having nothing else to do, I walk up to the computer to see the screen read "Enter name". I couldn't help but think this felt too much like an isekai I would read. But instead of waiting for someone else, I typed in my name, "Damon Asiren."
After putting my name into the computer, it started explaining what was happening. [You have been selected as a God Candidate. You must climb through divinity to eventually become the new Monarch Deity.]
I was stuck in confusion and awe. "God candidate? Divinity? Monarch Deity?" It sounded like a fantasy novel. [A God Candidate is a human brought from Earth to take part in an isekai world to become the new Monarch Deity.
There is no way I heard that right. Isekai world? That's too good to be true. That's like a dream for a weeb like me. [Yes, that is correct. This world simulates that of an Isekai]. I couldn't believe it. I've been isekai'd? It still sounds so absurd to me. Then again, I really can't explain hearing the voice of God and then passing out.
[Divinity is the system in which you will progress into a stronger being. In order of rank in Divinity, it goes Mortal, Demigod, Low Deity, Deity, High Deity, Fabled Deity, Cosmic Deity, Transcended Deity, and lastly, the Monarch Deity. To humans, you would call the Monarch Deity, God.] The way it was explained made it quite easy to understand.
[Divinity is awarded from difficult quests that are deemed to be deserving of a legend to remember you. Mortal: 0, Demigod: 1-9, Low Deity: 10-24, Deity: 25-49, High Deity: 50-74, Fabled Deity: 75-99, Cosmic Deity: 100-124, Transcended Deity: 125-149, Council Deity: 150+, Monarch Deity (God): ???] I thought to myself, could a god really have that many legends about themselves?
[Divinity doesn't equate to a legend, but the amount of things you've done and the difficulty of what has been done shows the amount of divinity you are awarded.] I stood dumbfounded that I really thought of something so dumb.
[System has been set up, rewarded 1x Starter Pack]. Seeing a system window made me smile, knowing this is definitely an isekai. I opened the starter pack. [Obtained Basic Coat, Longsword, Minor Tome] I was very confused about what a Minor Tome was, but the computer explained it for me.
[Minor Tome: tomes hold magical knowledge that allows people to learn more spells, skills, or upgrade their own stats]. It was slightly irritating to see everything be so passively explained.
[Obtained Spell: Flare] Seeing the name of the spell, I asked for more info, and I was given it. [Flare: F Grade] I wasn't surprised that it was an F-grade skill, but I was hoping for at least a C-grade skill. Remembering the computer said it was like an isekai, I said, Status Window.
