Chapter 4 - Inheritance (1)

As I slowly came out of the clan hall, I was met with the gazes of many disciples who, just like background characters, bad-mouthed me. I ignored them, of course.

"Hey buddy, tell me how to use this inheritance," I asked.

[Host needs to inject his spiritual energy.]

"Will it cause some vision of heaven and earth like in those novels?"

[Of course.]

Hearing this, my mood soured. "Can you stop the visions?"

[Of course not. Despite my power increasing multiple times, I am still not strong enough to block the visions of heaven.]

"Forget it. I'll activate it after going to some secret realm." I sighed. "Next, I want you to help me create some skills."

[What is it, host?]

"Just like before transmigrating, I told you to always look for any clichés that might happen to me and could bring trouble and Observe the facial expressions of people around me and alert me of danger."

"Now, I want you to record everything around us at all times. Also Analyze and learn all the skills—like swordsmanship, pill-making, and many more—from the memory of this body."

"you know very well that I don't want to fight, but I also know It's inevitable. So whenever we're going to fight, analyze the opponent's moves in real-time so we can not only avoid them but also copy them."

"And—"

[Host...]

"Hey, I'm not done yet."

[Well, you're about to get attacked.]

"What? Who dares—" As I spoke, the system also enabled my hearing again.

You bastard! Don't you see Fairy Lu is talking to you?

Coming to my senses, I looked back and saw a punch coming straight at my stomach. I couldn't avoid it and was sent flying hundreds of meters back.

Cough, cough.

I spat out a lot of blood, and it felt like my ribs were broken. "Looks like it was a bad idea to cut off my senses…"

The group or more specifically the person that attacked me stood in front of me with a proud smile on his face. There were multiple male and female cultivators gathered, and in the center was a woman.

Of course, she was very beautiful. You know the type even the heavens is jealous of—blah, blah, blah. And she was my first eldest sister.

"May I ask why you attacked me?" I asked the ugly boy who had thrown the punch.

"Of course! Because Fairy Lu asked you to stop one time and you ignored her!"

"Just for that? I thought you called me multiple times, and because I didn't answer, you attacked me?" I looked at him again, this time with sympathy.

"What do you think? After you hit a random passerby, will she consider you great? Sorry to shatter your illusion, but with a face like yours, even if you helped a wild beast, it wouldn't be grateful—and might even kill you. Forget about giving birth to its child."

At my words, the entire place fell silent. The people couldn't comprehend what I had said, and those who could couldn't process it.

"Did he just say Brother Bei is so ugly he can't even marry a wild beast?"

"Yes… but what did he mean by 'giving birth to a beast's child'?"

"Hiss... In my 600 years of life, I've never heard anyone say such words."

"Yes. It even feels worse than cursing someone's entire family to die a dog's death."

"Y-You… I'll kill you!" the ugly man yelled. Flames covered his shoulder as he charged at me. Everywhere he passed, the ground scorched, and I could feel the heat from 100 meters away.

'System, are you ready?'

[Yes, host.]

As he was only 10 meters away, I covered my entire body with spiritual energy.

[Move right.]

At the system's call, I moved right. His sword hit where I'd been and created a tens-of-meters-wide explosion. I was safe, thanks to the spiritual energy.

[Now down.]

I followed and ducked. His sword slashed where my neck had been seconds ago.

[Move right.]

"Shit!" I cursed. I wasn't in a good position—if I moved, I'd break my legs for sure. But if I didn't, I'd die. I knew I wouldn't feel pain thanks to the system, but still, going down the mountain with a broken leg didn't sit well with me.

[Host, quick! Move!]

I reacted and shifted. His sword fell, and I was safe—but the sound of bones breaking could be heard. With the help of my other leg, I stood up. I moved my hand and grabbed his ugly head.

"You bastard!" he yelled and was about to strike me.

"Do it."

At my words, a red light appeared in my hand. The man's eyes blanked for a moment. And then he fell to the ground.

Seeing this, the entire area became silent once again. I picked up his sword.

"I'll take this, considering a vegetable like you won't need it again."

"N-No, stop… s-stop…" the man muttered incoherently. There was a blank look in his eyes. The system had overloaded his memory with scenes of him turning into a man who could give birth and becoming a slave to goblin monsters. Despite being touched for only a second, he had experienced years of torture.
