"Where... where are you? Tell me where you are," I swallowed as I asked.
He gave me the name of the hospital he was at. I changed my outfit and immediately rushed to the hospital.
I stopped at the front desk and spoke to the man behind the counter. "Where is the morgue?" I asked, and he gave me proper directions.
I followed his instructions and got there. I saw Gavin sitting alone outside the morgue, and I rushed to him.
"Who... who died?" I grabbed his arm and looked at him.
He slowly lifted his head and looked at me; a smile appeared on his lips. "You're here."
"Yes, I came as fast as I could. Tell me. What happened? Did you say Cooper is—"
"The private investigator I hired died after discovering my mother's remains," he replied.
A frown appeared on my face. "A private investigator?"
"Yes, he was the one searching for my mother. He was brutally murdered before I could even speak to him."
