The long black car glided smoothly along Makazhar's main road.
Its premium suspension erased almost every bump, as if the outside world had been cut off from the quiet, sealed space within.
In the middle seat, Edward sat upright yet relaxed. His gaze stayed forward, but his thoughts were clearly elsewhere—still lingering on recent events.
Up front, the driver focused on the road. Beside him, Elvi closed the slim tablet in her hand.
"I've summarized the lighter reports, sir," Elvi said in a professional tone.
Edward gave a small nod.
A few seconds of silence passed.
Then he let out a quiet breath.
…and that alone was enough to make Elvi glance back.
"Is something troubling you, sir?" she asked carefully.
Edward looked at her, but chose not to answer.
Silence.
