Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Dream Stealer vs Spirit Warlock

3553 words

Alger sits on his chair within the captain's cabin, while the "Blue Avenger" ship sailed through the sea, following Admiral of Stars, codename, The Hermit of the Tarot Club, but due to their differentiating status, it be best not to work in close quarter and maintain a ridiculous long distance apart from each other while keeping some contact.

While taking a light nap, his spirituality suddenly erupted as voices from the other dimensions keep ringing in his ear.

(The Hermit and Star are in trouble, there's no more need for compliance and hidden cooperation, head to the island firsthand.) Mr Fool's voice was soft and benevolent yet threatening, truly the perfect for for such a God of his status.

(As you wish, Mr Fool.) Alger didn't waste time to contemplate about what happens after, for his belief in Mr Fool would come in his aid during the direst of times, it was definitely a fight.

Alger then remove his presence on ship and alerted his crew to stay alert, while he took a stance in the middle of the ship, and.

Fwish

A strong gust of winds erupted in the middle of the ship as his figure started flying, albeit his wind manipulation wasn't comparable to the likes of a sea king who can fly past the speed of sound and make sonic booms, his speed was still considerably faster than what the ship can offer at it his demand in this call.

His clothes flap all over non stop, his face meet strong blockades of winds, but he didn't stop.

A top the fog above the gray fog, a figure sat in the end of the long mottled table and casually observe the oncoming battle within the mountain.

Two sequence 4, and two sequence 5, with the addition of another ally on the way.

Suddenly, his ear's heared knocking sounds outside the gray fog, and back to the physical world.

Dwayne Dantes stood in the middle of the bathroom, while outside, Edwina's figure knocked on the bathroom.

"Gehr- I mean, Dwayne Dantes, is everything all right, you're taking quite a while."

Clacking sounds echoed in her ears, then the door opened as Dwayne Dantes figure emerged.

"Oh no, everything is all right, should we head back down."

Leaving a worm atop the gray world, he could hope to record the fight between them and see if they need any further assistance, he proceed with Edwina.

"Hey, do you feel that?" Sharron spoke while sitting on the bed with her eyes covered in a veil, still yet to heal properly, sensing another presence within the mansion.

"I know, now shut up, let me rest." Arianna lying on the bed with her eyes closed, responded in a short manner and shut her back quick.

"Well, well, if isn't Admiral of Stars, how are you doing, remember me?" The Tall Man spoke with a voice full of smugness and familiarity towards the Admiral.

Cattleya ignored him and stepped in between Leonard, checking his conditions.

"Looks like we be stuck in a fight, can you move?" Cattleya didn't turn her head while locking in towards the other two opposite of her.

"I can manage." He said that while feeling his nose still dripping.

"Oi, Cattleya, I'm talking to you, do you remember me?! Answer, dammit!" The Tall Man shouted for the lack of response, growling in anger.

"Ummm..... Who are you?" Cattleya was utterly confused and didn't even recognize the guy.

His face almost distorted in anger in uncontrollable manner as he heard her, but tried to compose himself anyway.

"Oh my, Cattleya, you don't remember your ex? How rude... Fufu." The female figure beside giggled at the situation, as if mocking Cattleya.

The Hermit tried to think and tread carefully in her past memories, and flashes of memory finally resurges, one's she tried to bury deep within her, the familiar face of the one who betrayed her, the one she used to love.

"Good, good, now you finally remember, when I heard you became an Admiral of the seas, I was jealous and thought to myself of going back, then I also remembered why I even broke up with you."

Leonard who was listening to this past drama feel uncomfortable as he couldn't see Cattleya's face or what expression she's having right now.

"You're honestly creepy you know that?! All this talk about Queen Mystic and all that, I couldn't stand that shit, you know how fucking annoying it would be how your partner constantly talks about her mommy issues? I'm sick and tired of that shit!" The Tall Man continued to rant on and on nonstop.

But Cattleya didn't move or make any rash actions, and then.

She look straight back in the eyes of her past lover, cold piercing gaze.

"So what, is it wrong for me to talk about it? About how great the Queen is?" Cattleya's words was rather firmed.

"You see, you hear yourself? That's why I can't stand you!"

(Eh, I don't know anything about this.) Leonard tried to keep his presence away from this drama as he is trying to focus on the upcoming battle.

"Honestly, I gotta at least applaud your honesty towards me, I appreciate it, made me realize how earlier the situation wouldn't really developed as we don't have anything to further offer each other with, in fact, we repelled each other in that manner, and don't worry, I'm not like those woman who clings to their man, in fear of being lonely, I'm fine." Partially true as she managed to move on, but the fear of loneliness made her still cling to another, like her adherence and love for the Queen and the pleasure sex brings.

"But also, still, the act of breaking up with me, cheating on me with another woman! You disgust me!" Cattleya bloodshot eyes glared strongly and intently towards the Tall Man.

Strong spiritual presence emanated and covered the whole mountain as two demigods are about to engage in a duel.

The prisoners by the saves fainted at their mere presence.

(That at least save me the trouble of putting them to sleep, we can at least hope to fight more clearly.) Leonard commented, but he still couldn't help it but check the prisoners condition for divinity is still something far more foreign and dangerous towards them.

"Worried about them? Don't worry, they're our prisoners for a reason, you don't need to know this, but people of high importance needed them." The Tall Man stared at Leonard who was behind Cattleya and who couldn't stop but glances at the prisoners and slaves.

Due to this statement, it was then made apparent Leonard to be completely rest assured as Cattleya also wouldn't allow her presence to eminently kill the surrounding people.

"Leonard, I take this guy, you handle the woman."

"Okay."

Nodding towards each other.

Within the Rosted Archipelago, on Pasu Island, within the Church of Storms, the headquarters.

A man of high position seated in his office while doing paper works, suddenly stop as his figure trembled a little, his spirituality alarmed, albeit small, but still noticeable enough, a familiar presence.

His bicep muscles protruded even more through his priest clothing, showing his mighty muscular figure.

Stepping on the ledge and balcony, he kneels down, putting his knees on the edge, relaxing his muscles, before exhaling.

BOOM

A massive destructive torrent gust of winds exploded at the top headquarters of the church, sonic booms temporarily disabled everyone's hearing capabilities.

Repeated breaking of the sound barrier echoed in the far diatance that became farther and farther by each second passing.

Within the mountain, atop of it, two figures locked in a constant battle of complicated series of events as folk tales keep being played out and dying shortly after.

Fires, winds, water, earth all keep exploding in the nearby direction, even the sunny streak of light across the sky keep being blocked out.

Below, on the ground, two figures locked in a frenzied state of hand to hand combat.

Leonard battled his way through against the female figure who holds numerous knives, 10 of them all juggling in her hands and managed it in such a way, Leonard find it hard to keep up even.

His arms, and body keep getting light slashes.

He's in a state of disadvantaged as he lacks any weapons.

While muttering underneath his breath of various incantations of poems.

Somehow, it's Leonard who suddenly felt his psyche being thrown off and slumping into a state of drowsiness.

(Dammit, wake up!) Old Man pallez shouted in Leonard's ears.

Forcing his way through, as his poems and requiem, an act to force the enemy asleep, it was him who was hit with it instead, a rather very embarrassing act, a Sleepless pathway Beyonder falling asleep.

Before he could fall to the ground, he raised his hand in fronts of his face, in a blocking manner before he was strucked by a powerful spinning back kick which sends him flying through the ceiling.

Crack

He croaked, feeling his back hurt and some bones broken.

Suddenly, as his eyes focused forward, he saw what was in front of him, a dagger moving at a ridiculous speed.

Immediately dodging his way, evading before it could hit his face.

Leonard continued dodging, with the aid of spirits he's commanding right now, he was able to achieve the effect of flying and a strengthened physicality.

Dealing with a Beyonder from the Marauder pathway, Leonard was stuck in a state of inactivity, as his attacks has the chances of his abilities getting stolen and hit him back, the way the battled could play out was already projected in his mind.

And he couldn't also help it, but some thoughts of his subsequent sets of actions in the following acts keeps being stolen, as such, a lot of movements are halted repeatedly.

Fwish

His leg was struck by dagger, then hhis focused on a spirit was dropped temporarily.

Burrowed deeply in, falling to the ground, he pulled it out immediately, before throwing it back at the Female Beyonder of Marauder Pathway.

But before he could see the dagger flying back, the Female Figure revealed a dagger covered in blood from her clothes.

Feeling agitated, Leonard couldn't help but frown.

(Calm down, kid, observe carefully.)

Hearing his advice, Leonard cogitate in a precise manner than wouldn't allow him to be suddenly struck in surprise, keeping his guards up while freshing his mind.

All the knives that was threw around earlier in pursuit of him, one by one keeps coming back to the Female Beyonder's pockets per each flick of her wrist, retrieving the daggers.

Using the aid of the spirits again, Leonard's back suddenly fell to the ground.

His enemy was momentarily surprised as he sunk to the ground, completely disappearing, suddenly, her spiritual perception triggered.

Turning around at an unprecedented speed, surpassing what they were moving in earlier, a dagger supposedly to struck an incoming attack from behind, hit nothing.

Turning face forward, but was a little too late, she saw Leonard's battered up face coming in with a belt in hand.

WATACK

The Female Beyonder's face was whipped with the metal part of his belt faster than a speeding train.

The Female Beyonder screamed in agony, crying out of extreme pain.

What's more damaging was the fact his belt was empowered immediately by a spirit catering to the Hunter's pathway, leaving her face burned with scorched mark of depressing flames.

But with no intention of backing down, she suddenly made a rash move of stealing, in hope of something, albeit random.

Or so Leonard thought as his actions was suddenly pointed at the swirling torrent of force stop the mountain between the two demigods.

His capabilities to forcefully put others in a sleep was not stolen, but rather, directed by the Marauder towards the demigods.

And as such, pointed at the two beings, they just casually swatted away such an ability way below their level, leaving their battle uninterrupted.

"What?!" Leonard gasped at his attack getting redirected, his thoughts misled, his attacks redirected.

He didn't waste then a blink of time as he then saw the female figure suddenly acted in an erratic manner despite being blind within his sight as he tried to send another whipped attack, but the Marauder didn't bother with it, and intercepted it casually with two daggers in hand.

The belt wasn't cut off despite the clear indication of blade against leather, which should be obvious who should win.

That is what normally implied usually, but right now, Leonard's belt was empowered by a spirit of the Hunter pathway, despite the difficulty of it, he still managed to retain it to a degree, having a certain level of toughness and durability, lasting longer, allowing him to fight.

The Marauder was definitely stealing his thoughts on a repeated non stop occassion as they locked once again in a frenzied state of close quarter combat.

But Leonard took notice of something.

She was constantly stealing and decrypting the fight, her pool of spirituality was constantly sucked away in an unimaginable speed.

"Tsk!" The Marauder backed away in fear, her body was full of bodily trauma from the constant strikes of the metal part of the belt.

But Leonard let her, as he sank once again in the ground, dropping from the ceiling.

Clang

Their weapons clashed.

Now they're in a state of pursuit, with Leonard flying faster than she could blink as she tried to repeatedly steal the distance.

A sequence 5 marauder normally wouldn't have such capabilities comparable to the blinking of the apprentice, but pushing herself is the best she could manage just to keep a distance.

She could also steal the spirits he commanded, aiding his body, but the thought of spirits suddenly being stolen, retaliating in a foreign body, and erupting could be rather dangerous, this line of thought crossed her mind, and a new idea emerged.

With very few thefts in her arsenal as her spirituality was on the verge of being drained for not being able to finish Leonard earlier.

She flicked her wrist once again, and feel her vitality suddenly replishing by a small margin.

Leonard noticed something wrong as his body was suddenly struck by a painful needle.

His spirituality was instead stolen.

"Tch!" Leonard then positioned himself in the air, pointing his index finger in a gun shape towards the Marauder.

The Female Figure fixed her eyes towards him, but feeling her intuition not to do it, she was left with no choice but to do so anyway as Leonard fired an imaginary attack from the tip of his index finger.

(What is that, I couldn't process it, what is it, what is it?! Should I steal it?!) The Female Marauder was feeling her emotions fluctuating ever since earlier.

The same attack that struck Sharron from her fight against Arianna repeatedly ever since the beginning.

Agitation.

Due to this, the Marauder was feeling herself rather on a collapsing balance as she tried to managed her emotions and decisions.

Despite that he's yet to have the true essence of Horror etch in his being as a Sleepless Beyonder, with the help of another spirit he choose carefully and stored within his teeth, Leonard befriended a spirit that caters to the sleepless pathway, together, not only agitation, but horror was etch also in the Marauder, albeit their low levels, it was enough to put her off balance.

The imaginary attack from the tip of Leonard's finger finally struck.

SHRIEK

Defeating cries of a wraith ringed in her ears, the last spirit Leonard mustered and stored within him, it's capabilities was used and fired towards the Marauder.

The Maruader's ears, spirit body and health was damaged heavily, repeated tremors echoed and throw her off the course of reality.

"AAHHHH!!!"

Leonard dashed forward in dashing speed faster than a train, ready to deliver the final blow with his belt that seemed to gained weight.

But.

Stab

"Just joking." The Marauder smiled at his face before Leonard's neck was stabbed, and the Shrieking of the Wraith hit him instead.

Leonard's state was thrown off balance, his spirit body, his health all took heavy damage, an unimaginable amount of pain courses through his body.

It was a terrible gamble, a very terrible one, instead of stealing the spirit, the shriek was stolen instead.

However, this act completely drained the Female Marauder of all her spirituality as such a heavy attack of that caliber was too much of her already diminishing spirituality.

Leonard who was staggering on his knees, as his body fall anemic from the instant blood loss that even the spirits could not even keep up due to the interference of the Female Figure.

Not intending to waste any monologues or any of that shit, another dagger was headed on its way towards Leonard's throat, ending his life.

Before suddenly.

BOOOMMM

A large thunderous torrents of lightning struck the Female Marauder, taking her off guard, frying her skin as loud defeaning sounds echoed throughout the whole mountain.

Alger just arrived on time from the air as he didn't hesitate to threw an extremely powerful lightning attack for he knew how bothersome mid sequence beyonders are hard to kill.

The Female Marauder falls flat to the ground.

Speaking of hard to kill, despite the stabbed wound, Leonard was still able to hang on his consciousness as he watched the Female Marauder strucked dead.

Alger stepped by his side and supported him from there, seeing his wounds, he quickly reach for a small bottle in his pocket, and forces Leonard to drink it.

Leonard could feel his state destabilize, allowing the spirit to recover his health.

"What's the situation." Alger asked straight to business.

"Miss Hermit is fighting the Demigod." Leonard coughed as blood spewed out, forcing toxins out of his body.

Alger then finally took notice of two torrent of forces atop the mountain, battling their way against each other.

Klein took a sip of his tea, while sitting on the sofa, there were no servants or workers in the mansion concurrently as he rather found the upcoming days would become more troubling, dividing it along the way as he aided Miss Hermit in the world above the gray fog.

Remembering earlier how he made them take a vacation, it's unusual for an employer to suddenly do it out of the blue, some confused, others not so reluctant to take it, but Arianna with her hidden presence influence them in a way.

"Umm, Captain, can I get some space?" Klein took a sip of his tea while Edwina clung on his legs, massaging his thighs, woah, woah, that suddenly, what is this shit.

"What do you mean, there's free space everywhere." Edwina jokingly and mockingly made such a comment in front of German Sparrow.

Barring the face of Klein Moretti as he don't even know anymore what face to truly take, he choose his original face.

The Tall Man was in a repeated statelmate of a confrontation, as his barrage of nonstop attacks courses their way though the imaginary reenactment of famous fairy tales, but the fairy tales keeps ending as it began, before it could even muster their first movement.

He could make a rule and prevent such an act, but that wouldn't completely strip her off her capabilities, and doing so would drain him off a large portion of his spirituality.

And not that he didn't already do it, but he already was making roundabout ways of works as a result and prevention of other subsequent actions Admiral of Stars could do, like the fact she could already end the fight if she stop the reenactment, allowing it to hit her, and sending the attacks back via a specific story such as the unbiased death of a famous figure, an injustice perhaps, but there's also the danger that if she did, the terrible outcome could kill her before even sending them back.

This confrontation would end mostly likely a draw, the other two beyonders down below could interfere, but without a proper preparation or plan while in the middle of a battlefield, their death could be done in a second already, slapping them for a fruitless directory of actions.

(Dammit, what can we do?!) Alger could throw another powerful lightning and gust of winds accompanied by a series of torrential piercing waters with all his capabilities, but the attack against a demigod wouldn't do anything and mostly kill him if it was send back.

(Admiral...) Leonard was still gasping for air while being supported by Alger.

And all of a sudden.

BOOOOOMMMM

Two streaks bolts of lightning, incomparable to what Alger threw, much more powerful, and more destructive suddenly struck down Cattleya and The Tall Man down to the ground accompanied by repeated breaking of the sound barriers, sonic booms.

The what was once a sunny day was immediately replaced by a cataclysmic storm that could end an entire island.

Brought by hopeless indignation, an act like mother nature taking its revenge for those who harm her.

There, higher than the mountain, in the middle of the swirling bolts of lightning and darkening cloud.

Heavy rain drops covered the whole island, as John Kottman made his appearance.
