Chapter 313: Magic Crash Course Class

After obtaining wands matched to their magical signatures, everyone eagerly began attempting various spells.

Previously, when no one had wands, everyone took turns using a single universal wand. It would take several days for their turn to come around, and each person could only practice briefly. Because of this, many people grabbed small sticks, similar in size to wands, and practiced waving them like real wands.

Now that they had wands, most spells succeeded on the first attempt.

Some people released light orbs with their wands, others levitated leaves, some unleashed flames, and still others transformed matchsticks into needles. Each person displayed different magical strengths. Some were devoted to Luminous Charm, some excelled at Fire Spells, some showed talent in Transfiguration, and others were skilled in Herbology. Some had even successfully brewed potions during the six months before receiving their wands, demonstrating aptitude for Potion-Making.

Watching these people, Kael's eyes filled with satisfaction.

After six months of observation, he understood these "new wizards" quite well. Now that they had obtained their wands, Kael decided not to let them continue studying on their own. Instead, he chose to establish a magic crash course to cultivate these five hundred people into his own wizard foundation.

Beyond Bill's previous instruction in wand-crafting techniques, Kael planned to select people to teach broomstick-making and Floo Powder production. He would also train Potion Masters, Alchemists, Herbology Experts, and more.

Perhaps because of the couple's telepathy, Arwen was also selecting talented witches for specialized training. She chose a woman skilled in weaving and taught her magical textile crafting. Perhaps in the future, "Madam Malkin's Robe Shop" would be born in Hogsmeade.

Everyone was extremely excited about the Lord establishing a magic crash course for them.

Since learning about magic, they had deeply felt how profound the Lord's magic was. Miracles of magic were visible everywhere in the castle: the eternally burning Goblet of Fire, ceiling panels that synchronized with outside weather, floating candles, moving magical portraits, staircases that shifted, and patrolling suits of armor. All of these magical phenomena were currently beyond their comprehension.

Not to mention the legendary thunderbirds capable of summoning lightning storms, the giant squid in the Black Lake, the dragons rumored to guard the treasury, and the basilisks in the Chamber of Secrets. All filled them with awe and curiosity.

Now that the Lord would personally serve as their teacher, everyone eagerly anticipated the instruction and actively studied.

Over five hundred people was roughly equivalent to the number of students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

To accommodate the large number of students studying simultaneously, Kael specially expanded the classroom using the Undetectable Extension Charm. Since it was a crash course, it couldn't proceed like Hogwarts, with seven grades learning slowly and gradually. So Kael primarily taught four subjects: Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, and Herbology to rapidly improve their magical literacy and abilities.

Kael taught Transfiguration and Potions, while Arwen was responsible for Charms and Herbology.

Upon hearing the news, Mayor Lachesis and Luke hurried to the castle, requesting to join the crash course. Kael naturally wouldn't refuse. After all, whether he tended one sheep or a flock, the effort was much the same. He also added Steward Edward to the crash course.

To avoid affecting their administrative duties, Mayors Lachesis and Luke came to the castle through the fireplace each day to study during the day, then handled municipal affairs at night. Though extremely busy, neither chose to give up. After all, the opportunity to receive the Lord's personal instruction was something no one would willingly abandon.

In the Potions classroom, Kael stood on the podium, surveying more than five hundred students below.

With so many students gathered, the room—expanded by the Undetectable Extension Charm—looked like a grand hall. Every two students formed a group, and their tables were arranged with cauldrons, alcohol lamps, stirring rods, potion ingredients, and other materials. The room was vast, yet Kael's voice reached every student's ears with precision.

As he explained, a massive screen behind him automatically displayed the steps for potion-making and important precautions. The enormous characters and striking colors ensured that even people in the back row could see clearly.

Kael considered recreating Professor Snape's classic opening line about potion-making, but thinking it over, he decided against it. It was a bit too dramatic and edgy.

After finishing his explanation of the potion materials, he spoke: "Alright, now begin brewing the Scurvy-Cure Potion. Start work."

He then descended from the podium and began surveying the students around him. Though these students were all adults, some even elderly, and the Scurvy-Cure Potion wasn't particularly complex to brew, Kael still worried about encountering a "cauldron-wrecker" like Neville Longbottom.

Upon receiving Kael's command, the students began to cooperate in brewing their potions.

To Kael's relief, since they were all adults who wanted to seize this rare opportunity and gain the Lord's approval, everyone was extremely careful and serious. They followed each step of Kael's process exactly, not daring to make mistakes. Though their movements were somewhat clumsy, basically everyone could brew a qualified Scurvy-Cure Potion.

Those like Steward Edward who had already brewed potions before found the Scurvy-Cure Potion trivially easy. Their movements were smooth and flowing, and the potions they produced were of perfect quality.

Several people with decent potion talents stood out, like Butterbur, the Prancing Pony innkeeper. Though all newcomers, based on their grasp of heat and timing, the potions they brewed were also quite good quality. Kael mentally noted these few people who performed well, planning to focus their future training toward becoming Potion Masters.

Of course, if he could produce an actual Master of Potions, Kael would be grinning from ear to ear.

Just when Kael thought this potion class would proceed smoothly, an exclamation suddenly came from nearby.

Sensing something amiss, Kael instantly Apparated to the source of the sound. "Protego!"

Kael cast a spell, creating an invisible protective barrier that enveloped the boiling cauldron. Simultaneously, the cauldron exploded, with the corrosive green potion eating through the cauldron and splattering everywhere. If not for the spell's barrier, the people around would surely have been affected.

The others nearby looked with lingering fear at the potion that had corroded the cauldron and table, their eyes full of admiration for the Lord who had saved them.

But Kael looked toward the culprit, his brow furrowing slightly, his expression somewhat speechless. "Bróg, when adding porcupine quills, you must first remove the cauldron from the flame. Haven't I said this more than once?"

He hadn't expected that his most reliable subordinate would be the first to make such a mistake.
