Chapter 12 - Chapter 12

They were only five now.

The warmth was gone.Room 3 was freezing—almost frozen in time.Ancient statues lined the walls, depicting unfamiliar figures: some looked human… others, monstrous. And all of them pointed at the adventurers, as if accusing them.

"This isn't a trap room. It's a… courtroom."

The mage ran his hand along one of the statues. It crumbled at his touch.

"Time doesn't flow normally here."

The captain nodded, gripping her halberd tightly.

"Then let's move. Let's end this."

Room 3 had been designed as a spiral labyrinth.Every corridor brought them closer to the center——but at every turn, a dilemma.

A bridge to cross, yet one of the pillars bore an odd, shifting weight.A hallway of illusions. The priestess saw Raven. Alive. Calling to her.

"That's not him! Don't look!"

She turned away, tears in her eyes.

A rain of magical darts nearly finished off the archer, but the mage disarmed the trap just in time.

Then, at the end of a winding stair, they saw it:

A massive door.Black. Etched with unknown golden symbols. It pulsed with ancient energy.

"That's… the Boss Room."

The captain closed her eyes.

"Prepare yourselves. Check your potions. Say your blessings."

The mage, however, was still analyzing the door.

"This structure… it's strange. There's a magical signature carved into the heart of the wood."

"A signature?"

"A name. Or a title, at least. Whoever made this wanted to be known."

He squinted.

"Kerow Lin."

Silence.

In the observation chamber, Lin smiled faintly.

"So you noticed. Not bad."

He slid an invisible interface into view.

"Let's see if they've earned the right to leave alive."

The adventurers lined up before the door.

Only five remained. Exhausted. Scarred.

But ready.

"For Raven."

And the door opened.
