Some time ago, I read a comment about what the hierarchy of the world is. I saw a decent amount of likes on it, so decided to give it.
But before that though, I wanted to explain a certain something shortly, hope you guys don't mind. Something I reckon I should've better emphasised.
The thing you my dear readers need to know about Katherine is that she is a vampire that has basically been for five centuries, always 5 steps ahead of everyone, has for every situation a contingency and the like.
Last chapter though something unexpected happened - she became addicted to Lucien's blood.
This of course rattles her, because, the problem isn't that she is losing control to Lucien - since she has already decided to submit to him - itis, that it isn't her choice.
Katherine chose to take Lucien as her god. She chose to submit to him. She chose to give him full authority over her life, based on his preferences, his desires, no matter what they may be. Be it he is lustful - she's seen through the ages countless powerful men have dozens of women, be they gods or kings - wrathful, controlling, etc.
She doesn't care.
In exchange for him loving her, being in love with her, giving her absolute peace and safety in a world where gods and demons and monsters roam around.
Now, last chapter though, because her situation wasn't her choice, and it rattled her, she for a moment fell back into old habits.
Be it deflection, humor, threats - Asking Lucien why he thinks she'd hesitate to kill him by drinking him dry, a false threat, as she is in love with him - etc.
