Chapter 35 - stalking

The CEO's voice was low and serious as he spoke to one of his trusted associates. "I want you to keep a close eye on Lily. I don't want her to slip out of our sight again."

The associate nodded, understanding the CEO's concerns. "Consider it done, sir. I'll make sure she's watched around the clock."

The CEO's eyes narrowed. "I want to know everything about her movements, her plans, and her relationships. I need to stay one step ahead of her."

The associate nodded again, already making mental notes of the task ahead. "I'll take care of it, sir. You can count on me."

With that, the associate disappeared into the shadows, ready to carry out the CEO's instructions and keep tabs on Lily's every move.

The CEO, Julian, handed his associate a photograph of Lily. "This is the woman I want you to watch. Her name is Lily. Make sure you know her every move."

The associate took the picture, studying it carefully. "I'll make sure to memorize her face, sir. What's her current location?"

Julian's eyes narrowed. "She's currently at the orphanage where she grew up. I want you to keep a discreet distance and monitor her activities without drawing attention to yourself."

The associate nodded, tucking the picture into his pocket. "I'll get right on it, sir. You can count on me to keep you informed about her every move."

Bryan nodded to himself as he walked out of the office, the photograph of Lily clutched in his hand. He made his way to his car, already planning his next move.

As he drove to the orphanage, Bryan's mind turned to the task at hand. He had done surveillance work before, but there was something about this assignment that didn't sit right with him.

When he arrived at the orphanage, Bryan took up a discreet position, keeping a watchful eye on the building without drawing attention to himself. He spotted Lily playing with the kids in the courtyard, her laughter carrying across the distance.

Bryan's gaze lingered on Lily, and for a moment, he felt a pang of curiosity about her story. Who was she, really? And why was Julian so interested in her movements?

Sophia stepped out of her sleek car and onto the driveway of Julian's mansion, her designer heels clicking on the pavement. She was a vision of elegance, her tailored outfit and perfectly coiffed hair exuding confidence and sophistication.

As she entered the mansion, Sophia was greeted by Julian himself, who stood in the foyer, a mixture of politeness and distraction on his face. "Sophia, darling. What brings you here today?"

Sophia's smile was calculated, her eyes gleaming with a hint of calculation. "I thought I'd drop by to see how you're doing, Julian. I've been feeling a bit...neglected lately."

Julian's expression remained neutral, but his eyes betrayed a flicker of annoyance. "I've been busy, Sophia. You know that."

Sophia's laughter was husky, her voice dripping with seduction. "Oh, Julian. You're always busy. But I'm willing to forgive...if you make it up to me."

The air was charged with tension as Sophia's words hung in the air, her intentions clear. But Julian's response was uncertain, his eyes clouded with thoughts of Lily...

Sophia's smile returned, her eyes gleaming with triumph. "Actually, Julian, I think I'll take this opportunity to move back in. Since Lily's not around to...distract you, I assume you'll be needing some company."

Julian's expression turned cold, his eyes narrowing. "Sophia, I don't think that's a good idea."

But Sophia was undeterred, her confidence growing with each passing moment. "Oh, I think it's a perfect idea, Julian. We'll pick up right where we left off. I'll have my things moved in immediately."

As Sophia turned to leave, Julian's voice stopped her. "Sophia, I need to make one thing clear: nothing has changed between us. You're not moving in here without my explicit consent."

Sophia's smile never wavered, but a hint of calculation crept into her eyes. The game was far from over...

You have become too harsh recently.

Julian's expression turned colder, his eyes glinting with annoyance. "Harsh? You think I'm being harsh? You have no idea what's at stake here, Sophia. My business, my reputation...everything is on the line."

Sophia took a step closer, her voice taking on a persuasive tone. "I understand that, Julian. But perhaps you're letting your obsession with Lily cloud your judgment. You need to focus on what's important – us, our relationship..."

Julian's laughter cut her off, harsh and dismissive. "You think you're what's important to me? You think you understand me, Sophia? You don't know the first thing about me."

The air was thick with tension as Sophia's eyes flashed with anger, her face pale with hurt. The conversation was rapidly spiraling out of control...

Let's continue with the conversation between Sophia and Julian.

Sophia's eyes welled up with tears as she spoke, her voice trembling. "I know you used to be like this, Julian, but then you softened...now you're a monster. You're not the man I fell in love with."

Julian's expression didn't change, his eyes remaining cold and unyielding. "I'm exactly the man I need to be, Sophia. And if you can't handle that, then maybe you're not the woman I need by my side."

Sophia's face crumpled, her body shaking with sobs. "You're not even listening to me, Julian. You're not even trying to understand."

The conversation hung in the air, the tension between them palpable. It seemed like Sophia was on the verge of walking away, but would Julian let her go?
