Chapter 167 - Chapter 167: Their Collaboration

Lunchtime

Su Yu received an email from Hanada Yui.

The collaboration proposal was actually quite simple—

They would select high-quality manga for translation and distribution overseas.

For every manga sold, both the original author and Future Manga Publishing would receive a profit share.

At first, the foreign publishers wanted a buyout deal—but that was a non-starter for any publishing house.

After all, copyright was key.

Additionally, a major online shopping platform overseas wanted to collaborate, inviting Future Manga Publishing to open a store on their site.

Both manga and merchandise had a huge market abroad.

The previous president had never pursued this due to personal reasons, but Su Yu wasn't about to let Future Manga miss out on such an opportunity.

Both the online store and translated manga distribution were worth discussing.

Hanada Yui wanted Su Yu's opinion on how to proceed.

After thinking for a moment, Su Yu sent his reply.

Future Manga Publishing – Hanada Yui's Office

Hanada Yui and Satou Yumiko sat on the sofa, reviewing the documents from the overseas company.

The contract signing would only happen after negotiations were finalized.

Ding!

A notification popped up on Hanada Yui's laptop.

Satou Yumiko immediately leaned over to take a look.

When they read Su Yu's response, both of them were momentarily stunned.

"The online store and manga sales should be integrated. If we open a store there, we'll need to hire local staff. Also, translated manga should be sold alongside the original versions…"

Essentially, Su Yu's plan was to sell translated versions through their own store.

This wouldn't conflict with local publishers' profits.

The foreign publisher would handle translations, and Future Manga Publishing would sell them digitally, sharing revenue through an agreed percentage.

Furthermore, Future Manga needed to establish a branch overseas.

If necessary, they could even collaborate with local manufacturers to produce merchandise.

For efficiency, Su Yu suggested that the management team for the overseas branch should be locals.

"Hanada-san, this…" Satou Yumiko looked at Hanada Yui.

"Su Yu-sama has his reasons." Hanada Yui understood Su Yu's vision. Digital manga platforms and video streaming would eventually need overseas expansion.

Having a branch there would make things much easier.

"Will we have to go there in person?" Satou Yumiko's eyes gleamed with curiosity—she had never been abroad before.

"This time, I'll go. I'll bring a local contact to negotiate. Next time, you can bring the editorial team for a business trip."

Since one of them had to stay behind to oversee Future Manga Publishing, they couldn't both leave at the same time.

Service Club

Su Yu didn't discuss business with Yukinoshita Yukino and the others.

Instead, he brought up the Madoka Magica game.

When Yukino heard Yui's idea, she completely agreed.

Even though Madoka Magica was a fantastic anime, the game didn't have to follow the original plot exactly.

Everyone in the Service Club shared their opinions.

Yui insisted that both characters and enemies must have an adorable art style.Ebina Hina suggested adding health bars and skills to both characters and enemies.Yumiko wanted a monster collection system, where players could befriend and adventure with the creatures.Kawasaki Saki, though unfamiliar with games, believed that a cute art style could work well with puzzle-solving elements.

Yukino summarized all the ideas and helped organize the game's framework.

Then, they split the work:

Yui and Yumiko handled character, enemy, and background design.Saki worked on puzzle mechanics.Ebina wrote the storyline.Yukino would assemble the game.

And Su Yu?

The five girls completely ignored him.

Su Yu didn't mind.

Once the game was finished, he'd make sure Yukino distributed the profits fairly.

She had probably thought of that in advance, which was why she didn't include him.

Just then—

RING!

Su Yu's phone rang.

Yukino glanced at the screen and saw Hikigaya Komachi's name.

The five girls fell silent, all watching Su Yu.

"Komachi, good afternoon." Su Yu answered the call without hesitation.

"Good afternoon, Su Yu-nii~!" Komachi's voice was cheerful and sweet.

"Calling me to treat me to lunch? Or are you asking me out on a date?" Su Yu teased, glancing at Yukino.

She glared at him, but said nothing.

"Komachi just got a job! Once I get my first paycheck, I'll treat you to dinner at my place!" Komachi laughed.

"Alright. I'll bring three signed copies of Yuru Camp as a gift."

"Su Yu-nii, you're the best!" Komachi cheered.

"Between me and your brother, who's better?" Su Yu asked playfully.

"Su Yu-nii is better!" Komachi didn't even hesitate.

"Hikigaya-kun is going to cry," Su Yu chuckled.

After chatting a bit longer, he hung up.

Before Yukino could question him, Su Yu took her hand.

"Komachi is Hikigaya's little sister. If you're jealous of her, that means you don't trust me."

Yukino rolled her eyes—

Then stepped on his foot.

Afternoon – Negotiations Finalized

Hanada Yui finalized the terms.

The foreign publisher agreed, but they'd need face-to-face meetings to settle the details.

Since Future Manga's digital platform and video streaming site acquisition were still in progress, Hanada Yui needed at least a week to handle things before traveling.

After getting the update, Su Yu called Yukinoshita Haruno.

Since the Yukinoshita family had connections abroad, Haruno (who also owned 10% of Future Manga Publishing) suggested sending Hayama's father to assist Hanada Yui.

Su Yu agreed.

In return, Haruno demanded dinner and a trip to the beach that evening.

Su Yu didn't refuse—

And set the time.

Tennis Court – Unexpected Guests

Unlike yesterday—

Today, there were a few extra girls at the tennis court.

Su Yu scanned the group and noticed a girl with light brown hair.

Hayama immediately walked up to Su Yu—

And bowed respectfully.

The girls nearby were shocked.

Why is Hayama-kun being so respectful to that guy?!

Su Yu understood Hayama's intentions.

Without a word, he walked onto the court.

Hayama followed behind.

On the other side, Hikigaya and Totsuka didn't notice anything—

Seeing the two step onto the court, they automatically stepped aside.
