Chapter 120: Xidi Leads the Troops to Zhennan Pass
A week later.
Outside the Demon Emperor's Palace, Lin Ze's maid Xiao Yun stood alone, anxiously waiting.
Lin Ze, Leng Xiao, and Yue Ye had been summoned to the palace by the Demon Emperor—and over two hours had passed.
Xiao Yun grew more worried with each passing minute, concerned about Lin Ze's safety.
But just then, three figures appeared at the end of the corridor.
Perched on the shoulder of one of them was a petite elf in a black dress, her delicate features serene, her porcelain-like feet swaying gently.
"It's Master!"
Xiao Yun exclaimed in delight and ran toward them.
"Master, are you all alright?"
Even though the sight of them together suggested things were fine, Xiao Yun still asked out of instinct.
Seeing her rush over, Lin Ze let out a long sigh.
Xiao Yun's heart skipped a beat.
Seeing her worried expression again, Yue Ye chuckled softly and said, "Don't worry, Xiao Yun. He's fine. His Majesty just won't allow him to leave Heart City for the next year and a half. He's ordered Lin Ze to prepare for the journey to Dream Paradise."
"That's good."
Xiao Yun breathed a deep sigh of relief.
Though Lin Ze had been grounded, compared to harsher punishments, this was clearly a good outcome.
"Master Lin Ze, what are your plans?"
Xiao Yun looked at him earnestly.
"Plans..." Lin Ze paused for a moment before replying. "I'll use the next year to select candidates for the trip to Dream Paradise."
If possible, he also hoped to unseal his fifth bloodline during this time.

Meanwhile, inside the main hall of the Demon Emperor's Palace.
The Sun, Moon, and Star Gods were still present, along with the Demon God of Love, Xidi Zun. After Lin Ze and the others left, the four remained behind.
"Xidi," Demon God Emperor Feng Xiu spoke, "do you disagree with my decision?"
"Since it is Your Majesty's will, Xidi has no objections," Xidi replied calmly.
"However, according to what I know," he added, "Dream Paradise is located within the jurisdiction of Zhennan Pass. Each time it opens, only twenty may enter. In previous years, demons have never participated. Shouldn't we begin preparing?"
"Xidi, you've been commanding the Tenth Legion of the Demon Dragon Army for some time now. It's time you stretched your legs a bit."
"Zhennan Pass has been too quiet lately. Take a million troops and stir things up—but don't destroy them. We still need balance."
"When Dream Paradise opens in a year, you'll lead the group and meet Lin Ze and the others at Zhennan Pass."
"I'm also curious to see whether the younger generation of demons or humans will stand out more."
"Brother, Dream Paradise is governed by a law of suppression—only those under the seventh level may enter," said the Star Demon God Vashak.
"That's fine. When the time comes, we'll suppress their strength to the peak of the sixth level."

Time flew by.
In the blink of an eye, over a year had passed.
Outside Bai Yue's residence in the Demon Emperor's Palace,
the sky thundered with the deafening sounds of battle.
Explosions burst like fireworks, shaking the air.
The entire estate trembled.
"Alright, you two little brats!" Bai Yue's voice called out gently but firmly. "If you keep fighting, I'll have no place to live!"
Clad in a flowing white dress, Bai Yue appeared beneath the two fighters overhead, her smile soft and elegant—like a princess from a dream.
Beside her, a bored-looking dark elemental spirit hovered lazily.
"They fight every single day," she grumbled. "Aren't they tired yet?"
"Maybe that's just how young people flirt," Bai Yue teased as she watched the battle above.
"By the way, Xiao An, I've heard that elemental spirits live for thousands of years. Don't you have anyone you like?"
The "Xiao An" she referred to was the light elemental spirit Lin Ze had rescued from Exorcist Pass. Now, she was fully a dark elemental spirit.
It was Lin Ze who had given her the name Xiao An.
At Bai Yue's question, Xiao An sneered. "Humans? My greatest regret was believing humans were kinder than demons."
As she spoke, her long black dress fluttered without wind, and her body emitted a powerful dark aura wrapped in killing intent.
Bai Yue wasn't unfamiliar with Xiao An's temper.
When they first met, Bai Yue had tried to explain or soften her hostility toward humans.
But after learning Xiao An's full story, she could only sigh in silence.
As a light elemental spirit who had lived for millennia, what happened at Exorcist Pass hadn't caused her fall to darkness—it had merely triggered it.
The true root was her long-buried hatred toward humans.
Now, just hearing the word "human" was enough to ignite her fury.
Bai Yue coughed lightly. "Maybe I phrased it badly. I meant, do you have anyone you like?"
"...No."
Xiao An replied with a flat, cold tone.
"Okay then..."
Bai Yue sighed, clearly feeling frustrated.
Since being brought back by Lin Ze, Xiao An had remained quiet and withdrawn.
If left alone, she could sit in silence all day.
Meanwhile, the two fighting above hadn't stopped at all—still exchanging lightning-fast blows midair.
But just then...
Two beautiful young women dressed in the uniform of the Yue Ye Chamber of Commerce entered the courtyard.
They were none other than Yue Ye, the president of the Chamber, and Xiao Yun, now vice president.
Although, she now went by Lin Yun—a name she had chosen herself.
Seeing the ongoing battle in the sky, Lin Yun called out excitedly,
"Master! Sister Yue and I are back! We have news about Lord Xidi and Miss Cai'er!"
The intense clash in the air immediately ceased the moment Lin Yun's voice fell.
In the next instant, a tall, sharp-eyed young man appeared before them.
It was Lin Ze, clad in a black training suit. His features were as handsome as ever—clean, composed, and calm.
Over the past year, Lin Ze hadn't changed much in appearance, but his temperament had matured. He had grown far more composed and stable.
As for Leng Xiao, standing beside him—her personality remained the same: cheerful, blunt, and as teasing as ever.
Aside from her even more stunning figure, not much had changed about her either.
