Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Activation of the Echo

The last night before the counterattack was filled with tension. The Blood Moon, once a symbol of werewolf awakening, now seemed to hang in space like a vast, bloody eye, aware of the impending cosmic battle. A silence reigned in the Source Cave, broken only by quiet whispers and the steady beat of werewolf hearts.

Lyra stood at the forefront, her hands gripping the Crystal of Harmony, which pulsed more powerfully than ever. Beside her stood Kaelan, his stance solid as a rock. On their other side, Seraphina, clad in light, streamlined armor, her silver streaks of fur gleaming in the Source's light. She was calm, her gray eyes focused as if she already saw the path through the labyrinth of logical anomalies. Elara was ready, her intuition sharpened, prepared to guide through the subtle whispers of the Song.

"Remember," Lyra's voice echoed through the cave, amplified by the Song of Balance. "This is not a battle for destruction. This is a battle for awakening. We are activating an echo that is already there. Every Song we sing must be precise. Every emotion we send must be controlled. We are the Silver Thread. Blood Moon Pack, let's go!"

The strategy was complex, demanding a precision the werewolves had never been trained for. They divided into three main groups, each to attack one of the chaos repositories. Lyra's group, led by Kaelan and Seraphina, was to strike the main command node, where the most powerful suppressed emotions were gathered.

Utilizing the "anomalies in logic" indicated by Sentient Unit 734, the werewolves, enveloped in the Song of Balance, penetrated the Primeval Beings' defenses. Their ships, though powerful, were blind to the subtle vibrations of the Song of Balance. They were designed to detect chaos, but not controlled harmony.

Lyra's group found themselves inside the mighty command ship. Vast, colorless corridors, filled with cold, humming light, stretched endlessly. Automatons patrolled with precision, but their scans did not detect the Song of Balance that enveloped them.

"Chaos repository, Sector Delta-3," Seraphina whispered, pointing the way. "Unit 734 will give us the moment when the defenses are at their most 'illogical' point."

The tension grew with each step. Lyra felt her heart beat the rhythm of the Song of Balance. When they reached the gigantic repository chamber, Lyra froze. It was a space filled with billions of shimmering crystals, each pulsing with a faint, blue light. In each crystal, Lyra felt the trapped echoes of emotions – the joy of destroyed civilizations, the sorrow of lost memories, the anger of extinguished suns. They were… souls.

"Now!" the metallic whisper of Sentient Unit 734 resonated in Seraphina's mind, and she relayed it to Lyra.

Lyra raised the Crystal of Harmony. Seraphina stood beside her, her hands outstretched. Kaelan and the rest of the pack formed a circle around them, ready to sing the Song.

Lyra initiated the Song of Balance, and Seraphina, with her unique connection, joined her. Their voices, though quiet, carried immense power. It was a Song that did not destroy the crystals but subtly resonated with them, seeking the echoes trapped within.

Initially, nothing happened. The cold, blue lights pulsed on. But Lyra felt the Song penetrate deeper, felt delicate emotions begin to awaken.

Suddenly, one crystal glowed red. Then another, green. A third, purple. A wave of color began to spread through the repository, like a brushfire. Millions of suppressed emotions began to awaken.

Echoes of laughter, crying, anger, love, fear – a symphony of chaos that was the Song of Life – resounded in the chamber. The crystals began to tremble, their blue glow fading, replaced by swirling colors.

"It worked!" Elara whispered, her eyes shining.

But success had its price. The ship's defense systems, hitherto blind, suddenly reacted to the violent outburst of emotions. The automatons began to move faster, their lights turning red."Intruder detected! Emotional disturbance – extreme level! Activating protocol… cleansing!"

The battle began. But this time it was different. The automatons were in chaos, their logical programming unable to cope with such a dose of emotions. Their movements were uncoordinated. "Fight!" Kaelan roared, striking automatons that tried to attack Lyra. "But not with hatred! With Balance!"

Lyra continued the Song, though a wave of cold logic attacked them. She felt her Song of Balance struggling against the pure, calculating hatred of the Primeval Beings. She knew she had to endure to give the other groups time.

At the same moment, in the other two chaos repositories, Varg's and Karkan's groups also activated emotions. The external Primeval Beings fleet began to show signs of panic. Ships collided, their suppression beams wavered, and the bubbles over the bastions of the Song of Life began to flicker.

Seraphina suddenly let out a short, painful cry. Strong, blue impulses began to emanate from her silver streaks of fur, clashing with the rainbow Song. Her body trembled. "They… they are trying to reclaim her!" Elara cried. "The Primeval Beings' command unit is focusing on her!"

This was it – the "final correction" that Sentient Unit 734 had spoken of. The Primeval Beings were trying to regain control of Seraphina, their perfect tool.

"No!" Lyra screamed, rushing to Seraphina. She merged her Song with Seraphina's, creating a powerful shield of Balance. "I won't let you take her!"

Seraphina, despite the pain, looked at Lyra. In her gray eyes, Lyra saw a flicker of determination. "Never again…" Seraphina whispered. "I will not be their tool."

From her body surged a wave of the Song, which was neither cold nor hot, but… perfectly balanced. It was Seraphina's own Song, the Silver Shadow, combining logic and emotion. This wave struck the Primeval Beings' system, creating a powerful resonance that shook the entire ship.

"We're pulling out!" Kaelan roared. "Mission accomplished!"

The werewolves, fighting the disoriented automatons, began to retreat. They left behind a ship that now pulsed with the chaos of emotions and metallic screams of systems.

The Activation of the Echo had succeeded.
