CHAPTERS 19: The Awakening
Seraphina's POV
"What was that howl?" I said slowly, holding the journal in my hand.
Myra didn't answer, her eyes moved to the east across the ridges area, beyond the wind. Her body had paused for a while, as if listening for something else under the sound.
"It wasn't close, we are still safe." Darius walked forward.
But his tone wasn't comforting, he had gone very weak beyond his normal way, and his eyes had refused to meet mine.
"Was it… Caelum?" I looked at Myra.
"His madness has already started." She didn't blink.
"Because of the soul bond?" My throat pressed together.
"No, because he is already losing you." She murmured.
A silence pressed between us, the silence was very hot and thick.
Then Myra pointed toward the far ridge, where a low blow of a moonlight had pooled in the distance. "It is time."
I followed her eyes.
"The ruins?" I asked.
"The sacred spring, that is the last place I heard your wolf." She nodded.
